Social Entrepreneur: Indonesian Society Improvement Organization

JAKARTA – Dompet Dhuafa held a seminar on the theme: “Getting Common Success through Social Entrepreneurship”. The event which also constituted the launching of Social Entrepreneur Academy was aimed at creating the tough entrepreneurs possessing social character.

“Our nation should have many social entrepreneurs. Therefore, Indonesian people will be able to be self-reliant. Dompet Dhuafa is ready to organize and educate the social entrepreneurs,” said President Director of Dompet Dhuafa, Ismail A. Said at Setiabudi Building 2, Jl. HR Rasuna Said Kav. 62 Kuningan, Jakarta, on Saturday (2/11).

The Executive Director of Dompet Dhuafa, Ahmad Juwaini also said the similar thing. According to the writer of Social Entreprenur, the existence of benevolent entrepreneurs will change the Nation’s income.

“The principle of social entrepreneur is to improve people’s quality of life and the nation. They also can give benefit to people, not only think up the profit,” said Ahmad Juwaini.

Business and financial practitioner Rhenald Kasali said that a social entrepreneur should also care of the others, not only himself.

“A social entrepeneur should be sensitive to his milieu. Indonesia is a correct place for this. Social entrepreneur is like a bright light in the darkness,” he added.

In this event, Eka Budi Sulistio (social entrepreneur), Mas Mono (owner of Ayam Bakar Mas Mono restaurant), and Zainal Abidin (Director of Social Entrepreneur Academy) acted as the speakers.  [nes]
