Celebrate Mother’s Day: Dompet Dhuafa and Ibu Pembelajar Indonesia Invite Indonesian Mothers to Improve Quality of Life through Simple Mindfulness

SOUTH TANGERANG, BANTEN – On Sunday (22/12/2024), Dompet Dhuafa and Ibu Pembelajar Indonesia held a Mother’s Day celebration at Khadijah Learning Center Campus, BSD City. Both have a commitment to empower Indonesian mothers to improve the quality of family life through language skills training, coding, and stress management through mindfulness.

Supported by 21 communities who share the same passion, this event was also a moment to celebrate Ibu Pembelajar Indonesia’s 3rd anniversary by holding Ibu Pembelajar Indonesia Festival. With the theme “Community Harmony: Strength, Mental Health, and Diversity”, the event emphasized the importance of mothers as the primary educators in the family as well as agents of change in society.

More than just a celebration, this festival became a momentum for the community, which now consists of more than 5,000 members, to support each other and share experiences. Through a series of inspirational sessions, participants gained new insights in various fields as well as musical performances, emotional reflection sessions, and interactive quizzes.

One of the events was a talk show by Raden Prisya, a mindfulness and well-being practitioner, together with Indi Budi Setiawati. The topic of discussion was how to manage stress and emotions, as well as applying mindfulness in parenting. This sharing and networking session provided a space for mothers to share their stories and expand their network. Highlights included the awarding of prizes to participants who showed outstanding dedication, as well as the launch of a community podcast.

“This festival is a form of appreciation for the dedication of mothers in learning and contributing to their families. We hope that through this event, mothers are inspired to continue improving their skills for a better future,” said Widhi, CEO of Ibu Pembelajar Indonesia.

In a talk show session that was one of the highlights, Raden Prisya, a mother of two, is the Founder of Mind Revive Indonesia and Dompet Dhuafa’s Kindness Warrior. She explained the importance of mindfulness by saying that it has enormous benefits for the human body. Being aware of one’s own feelings, then determining the appropriate response is a mindfulness practice that will help mental health.

“We are aware of what we think, what we feel, when we are feeling it. Because there are so many benefits. Where when we are aware of our feelings, we can choose a response. That’s where we excel as humans. Lust is not going to go away. Our job is to sharpen our intellect and control our lust, by improving our spirituality,” he explained.

Raden Prisya also provides practical steps to practice mindfulness, such as utilizing me time in the morning with a favorite drink.

“Take 10-15 minutes to make your favorite drink in the morning to really be present with yourself. Be grateful for everything that you currently have,” she added.

Next, Indi Budi Setiawati, a mother of two as well as a lecturer, shared her experience from her mother. She said that since she was a child, her mother always taught her to be aware of her emotions and control them. Her mother trained her to pay attention to everything around her while traveling. She also taught him to analyze whether he fit into the environment. The process made him start to realize emotions and then learn to respond to them.

In addition, this collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa presents a scholarship program to the beneficiaries, as a form of concrete support in encouraging the improvement of the quality of education and family welfare.

Through this event, Dompet Dhuafa and Ibu Pembelajar Indonesia affirmed their commitment in creating a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all their members.
