ACEH — To commemorate World Heart Day 2024, Dompet Dhuafa Aceh’s Free Health Services (LKC) held various health activities in Miruek Lamreudeup Village, Baitussalam District, Aceh Besar Regency, on Wednesday (25/09/2024). Attended by 193 participants from various backgrounds, the event aimed to raise public awareness of the importance of maintaining heart health and preventing non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
The activity began with a lively healthy heart exercise, guided by an experienced instructor, Maulidar Kamil, A.Md. Keb, LKC Aceh partner and midwife of Puskesmas Baitussalam. After breaking a sweat, the participants participated in a sharing session about NCDs, especially diabetes mellitus and hypertension, with Dr. Ahmad Hibban Awriya, Sp. PD. The expert doctor gave an easy-to-understand explanation of the risks, symptoms, and how to prevent the disease.
In addition, participants also received socialization about tuberculosis (TB) from Mrs. Purnamawati, SST. In this session, the community was invited to be more concerned about lung health and to know the early signs of tuberculosis.
“We are happy to participate in this activity. The information presented is very useful. So we understand more about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle,” said one of the participants.

Arfan Ramadhan, Regional Head of LKC Dompet Dhuafa Aceh, expressed his hope that this activity could be the first step for the people of Miruek Lamreudeup Village to live healthier lives.
“We are committed to continuing to provide quality health services to the community, especially in areas in need,” he said.
As a form of appreciation, the committee also distributed door prizes to participants. The enthusiasm of the community was very high, as seen from the many questions asked to the speakers. (Dompet Dhuafa)
