JAKARTA – At the Dompet Dhuafa Human Meeting on Monday (20/2/2023), Dompet Dhuafa personnel received several refreshes from the trustees and management of the foundation. Among its refreshments is the strengthening of institutional values to inspire more people.
This Insan Meeting event took place in the parking lot of the Dompet Dhuafa Philanthropy Building, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta. Present on this silaturrahmi were the Board of Trustees of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation, Parni Hadi; Board of Trustees, Andi Makmur Makka; Chairman of the Board, Rahmad Riyadi; Board of Directors, Taufik Hidayat and Yayat Supriyatna. In addition, it was also attended by Dompet Dhuafa people, both in the centre, organ networks, to branch networks both at home and abroad through online media.
As the coach and initiator of the establishment of Dompet Dhuafa, Parni Hadi reminded again about the values of Dompet Dhuafa. Among them is that Dompet Dhuafa has always been an institution with integrity and professionalism, so Dompet Dhuafa, as a unit of the institution, is a nonpartisan institution that does not lean towards certain parties or community organizations. So are the people who are not involved in practical political groups.
“Dompet Dhuafa is not a political party, not partisan to a particular group of political parties, does not (engage in) political practices. Dompet Dhuafa is an Islamic philanthropic institution,” he said.
He also gave directions to respond wisely to the hustle and bustle of the political world. “It’s a frenzy; go ahead. But Dompet Dhuafa is not involved in practical political activities,” he continued to emphasize.
According to Parni, Dompet Dhuafa can continue to grow and develop for many years because people believe this institution is independent. He said that at one time, he received an impression from various institutions, including foreign institutions, that Dompet Dhuafa was an independent institution.
“Dompet Dhuafa (is an institution) nonpartisan in certain non-madhabs. Please (outside Dompet Dhuafa) participate in certain madhabs (Islam), but here we get along well into one person of Dompet Dhuafa,” he said.
That way, Dompet Dhuafa became a wasathiyah Islamic institution, namely Islam in the middle, Islam rahmatan lil alamin. As Mas Mardi said, Parni’s nickname for the late Prof. H. Azyumardi Azra, an Indonesian Muslim scholar, that a Muslim must have a wasathiyah character, namely tawasuth (moderate), tasamuh (tolerance), tawazun (balanced), and ta’awun (cooperation).

On this occasion, Dompet Dhuafa also announced a refresher of the organizational structure. This refresher deals with various dynamics. Dompet Dhuafa must also be a dynamic institution. His goal is to realize his vision and mission better.
“On this occasion, I want to convey that these changes are internal and external demands. With the current conditions, we are challenged by globalization and digitalization, which will continue to be on the horizon. So, in this institutional process, if we don’t change, we will be rolled up by the times. One of the advantages of Dompet Dhuafa is that it has young human resources.
