Dompet Dhuafa Continues to Coordinate with BNPB and the Indonesian Embassy

TURKIYE — Dompet Dhuafa ‘s humanitarian team has arrived in Adana, Turkey, since Sunday (2/12/2023). Upon arrival at Adana Sarkipasa Airport, the debarkation center for all humanitarian aid that arrived by plane, the team immediately received an initial briefing by the Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey, Lalu Muhamad Iqbal, and the Mission Coordinator from (National Disaster Management Agency) BNPB, Bambang Surya Putra.

Lalu gave directions to continue the journey to Antakya, Hatay, which is estimated to be about 199 kilometers away. Immediately, the Dompet Dhuafa team who joined the Indonesia Search and Rescue Team (INASAR) Basarnas and BNPB along with other members moved to the operation area determined by AFAD, namely in Antakya, Hatay Province. Upon arrival in Antakya, the INASAR team immediately coordinated with the UN Office for Humanitarian Affairs in Antakya.

During the meeting, Lalu mentioned that survivors were still being found under the rubble. According to him, the Indonesian Humanitarian Team still has the opportunity to rescue more survivors from the Turkiye earthquake.

The Turkish Disaster Management Agency (AFAD) also provided full support so that the entire landing, licensing, immigration and customs processes went smoothly.

Meanwhile, Head of the Operations Control Center, Bambang Surya Putra also emphasized the direction from Ambassador Lalu to the INASAR team.

One of the INASAR personnel, Narwan as DMC Dompet Dhuafa ‘s Response-Recovery Manager, said that Dompet Dhuafa would make every effort to deal with the victims. All actions will be harmonized with directions and appeals from BNPB and the Indonesian Embassy to Turkey.

“Please pray from brothers and sisters in Indonesia so that we can carry out this humanitarian task as well as possible,” Narwan said to Dompet Dhuafa in Indonesia.
