Iftar in Seoul’s Little India, Itaewon Mosque Imam gives Dai Ambassadors a memorable Ramadan experience in Seoul

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — Amidst the hustle and bustle of modern and dynamic Seoul, there is an oasis for the Muslim community, Little India Seoul. Located in Itaewon District, this area is not only the center of economic and cultural activities for Indians, but also a comfortable place for Muslims to worship and enjoy halal food.

One of the special moments in this place felt by Dompet Dhuafa’s Dai Ambassador, Ustaz Ihya Ulumudin, was when he was invited to break the fast with the Imam of the Itaewon Mosque and several congregations in Little India Seoul. In the afternoon before iftar, the atmosphere around the mosque comes alive. Muslims begin to gather around the mosque, getting ready to celebrate iftar together.

One of the things that makes this iftar event so special is the delicious dishes served, all of which are guaranteed to be halal. From Indian specialties such as biryani rice and naan bread, to international dishes such as falafel and hummus, all are carefully prepared by skilled chefs. Refreshing drinks such as fruit juices and green tea are the perfect companions to restore energy after a long day of hunger and thirst.

A Meaningful Prayer Together

Before starting the meal, the Imam of Itaewon Mosque led a collective prayer to express gratitude for the blessings of Ramadan and ask for forgiveness and blessings from Allah Swt. The melodious sound of the call to prayer echoes around the mosque, inviting Muslims to come together to strengthen their spiritual bonds in a blessed togetherness.
