Re-Space Committed, a Forum for Collaboration & Innovation of Young People

TANGERANG – The good work of KolaboAksi intertwined between Intitut Kemandirian (IK & PT Rebach Internasional through the Re-Space program continues to air. Since its inauguration in 2021, Re-Space has grown into a place for the younger generation, creating and building relationships.

Located at the Independence Innovation Building on Jalan Zaitun II, Islamic Village Complex Tangerang, Banten, Thursday (1/2/2023), Re-Space, with its tagline “Discover Your Talent”, is a place for the younger generation who have a myriad of ideas to continue to increase creativity and explore skills through its two main programs, namely, Makerspace and Kitchen Lab.

“Re-space is the tagline of Discover Your Talent, as well as the Independence Innovation building, so here is a place to be creative, to explore skills through existing facilities, therefore this place is expected to be one of the references for the Independence Institute for the development of its business sector,” said Muhammad Iqbal Adriansyah, Project Manager of Re-Space.

Carrying the concept of philantro preneurship, Re-Space provides offline and online training, incubation to create new entrepreneurs. Re-Space is also open to the general public. So one training attended by the general public can provide opportunities for the poor to experience the existing facilities and training. There are facilities such as, Kitchen-Lab, Coworking space, a Meeting room, a Makerspace, a Mini-studio, a Photo studio, Cloud kitchen cake Bakery and the manufacture of Various Drinks and a Lounge.

“For example, 1 product is paid Rp 386,000 and the product can be taken home, it can subsidize one person to participate again and we allocate it to the children of the independence institute, IK remains in the philanthropic sector, we continue to penetrate in the business sector, so we help there, so there is a business concept, as well as social that is here,” Iqbal added.

When the Dompet Dhuafa team met on Thursday (1/2/2023), the Makerspace class was being held, which was filled with 4 participants and 1 trainer, making a wood-based cutting board. The four participants seemed very focused when making the cutting board. With a training duration of 5 hours, the participants were taught to start by chopping wood, sanding and levelling or smoothing, and applying oil to smooth cutting boards. 

Syam felt the excitement, and Nursyam, a Makerspace trainee, made a cutting board. Both of them looked very enthusiastic.

“We can get new knowledge, make things and add new experiences. It’s quite exciting because we tried things that we have never tried,” Nursyam explained to Dompet Dhuafa. 

Through Re-Space, IK Dompet Dhuafa and PT Rebach Internasional are here to provide useful knowledge as well as a forum to collaborate to be able to reduce unemployment in Indonesia and can give birth to a skilled young generation.

“Hopefully, this place will become a place for young people to innovate, create, gather and socialize, we hope that this class will continue to run, there will be a lot of interaction, socializing, and collaborating there, so we hope that they can synergize with each other, there is no distance, we want to connect people in need with people who are capable, of course, the hope is that this place can be a driving machine or support social activities from programs  Institute of Self-Reliance,” Iqbal concluded.
