BOGOR, WEST JAVA — Dompet Dhuafa’s Integrated Health Center (RST) held an earthquake disaster response training for its employees or RST people in the Abu Bakar Hall Room of the Qatar Charity RST Dompet Dhuafa Building, Friday (18/10/2024).
This disaster response training was held with the Dompet Dhuafa Disaster Management Center (DMC) who became the training instructor.
Rahayu Purwanti as Secretary of the K3 Team of RST Dompet Dhuafa explained the reasons behind the implementation of this disaster response training.
Rahayu said, this activity has the aim of building, honing, and training disaster response skills.
According to her, this ability is important to be possessed by RST personnel consisting of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, administration, cleaning service, and security.
“This is a routine training and is carried out in stages for each employee,” said Rahayu.

The disaster response training materials include emergency response during an earthquake and evacuation schemes to a rallying point. In addition, there is also a deepening of material on how to protect yourself during an earthquake.
Lukman, the training coordinator from DMC, said that this material is important when reflecting on the experience of the earthquakes that occurred in Palu and Lombok in 2018.
According to Lukman, when the big earthquake occurred, many people were still unfamiliar with how to deal with it. Thus, more victims fell.
For this reason, this kind of disaster response training is needed. Training needs to be carried out thoroughly to every stakeholder, including hospital personnel.
“This is to create a disaster-resilient society,” he said.
Hopefully, this training can be useful as intended. With the knowledge and skills gained from this disaster response training, we can become heroes for others. Because, community preparedness is the main key to reducing the negative impact of disasters. (Dompet Dhuafa)
