JAKARTA – The Vespa 60s Community in Jabodetabek officially turned two years old in August 2023. The celebration of the 2nd Anniversary of Vespa 60s Jabodetabek took place on Sunday (27/8/2023) at THAMRIN 10 Food & Creative Park, Central Jakarta. As an expression of gratitude for the establishment of Vespa 60s Jabodetabek, the Vespa community once again partnered with Dompet Dhuafa as a charity partner.
The event was made even more festive with the presence of Vespa communities from other regions who joined the group ride. Thousands of Vespas came together to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of 60s Jabodetabek.
The group ride started from Taman Maramani as the gathering point, and the Vespa parade passed through TVRI before finishing at THAMRIN 10, where the main event was held.

“So, the goal of 60s is to preserve classic Vespas, especially in Jabodetabek. We aim to enjoy Vespas and keep them relevant. Thank you very much for your continued support. Over these two years, we have been like brothers,” said Andi.
Upon arriving at the location, Vespa riders could enjoy a series of prepared activities. There were various booths to visit, including spare parts stalls, Vespa displays, culinary delights, and various entertainment performances by Mr. Jarwo, Sueb, Billy Beat Box, Pasir Pantai, Energy Tanpa Batas, and more.
With the spirit of their anniversary, Andi added that the 60s Jabodetabek Community is not only celebrating their anniversary with Vespa enthusiasts from across Indonesia, but also inviting all Vespa lovers not to forget about orphaned children.

“We have been collaborating with Dompet Dhuafa for two years, starting from our first anniversary. We work together with Dompet Dhuafa. So, every 60s member has the opportunity to donate or provide assistance to orphaned children, and we also promote this on Instagram. We hope that everyone will open their hearts so that the blessings they receive can be shared, bringing happiness and blessings to both the givers and the receivers,” Andi continued.
In the midst of the festivities, there was a symbolic donation handover to the Orphan Honoring Program. This was marked by a symbolic donation from 60s Jabodetabek to Dompet Dhuafa.
“We focus on orphaned children because we want our donations to be clearly directed. This is why we cooperate with Dompet Dhuafa. So, every orphan is managed by Dompet Dhuafa, and we want to share happiness with these children,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dompet Dhuafa supported the event’s success by providing an ambulance from the Free Healthcare Service (LKC) Dompet Dhuafa, stationed in the midst of the anniversary’s excitement, accompanying the Vespa convoy.
“Alhamdulillah, we are still trusted by the Vespa 60s Jabodetabek Community as the chosen partner to bring happiness to orphaned children. In this second anniversary, we also supported by providing an ambulance to anticipate any medical needs through the Free Healthcare Service (LKC) of Dompet Dhuafa,” said Dimas Muttakhin, Community Fundraising Specialist at Dompet Dhuafa.

Furthermore, Ustaz Suherman, a representative of the Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa (Cordofa), explained the importance of honoring orphaned children.
“The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, ‘I and the one who sponsors an orphan are like this in Paradise,’ while pointing with his index and middle fingers, signifying closeness and togetherness,” explained Ustaz Suherman.
“This afternoon is not only witnessed by the Vespa community but is a clear demonstration of real kindness that I have found. Here, we witness that this caring spirit is evident in accompanying orphaned children, showing care for orphaned children,” Ustaz Suherman concluded. (Dompet Dhuafa/Anndini)
