In her speech, Anita, the Head of the Ramadhan Program of Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta, said the purpose of this event is to present positive emotions in the form of happiness as a form of moral support for children of cancer survivors. Cancer healing takes a long time and a tedious process; not infrequently, some of the actions are painful. The condition causes a sense of pressure and stress in children. A sense of happiness must be presented to increase the body’s immunity. Immunity factors are the essential capital of curing cancer.
“The hope is that this little happiness package for children can provide joy and increase the enthusiasm to strive for healing,” she said.
At the beginning of the event, children are free to choose colouring or folding activities (origami). Providing motivational storytelling moments to grow their enthusiasm in facing the pain they suffered from Dompet Dhuafa volunteers. The positive suggestion makes children big-hearted and removes the feeling of “own” in the fight against the disease.
Not only that, but this event also presents Kak Assegaf Pangestu, who is a TikTok Content Creator from Kulonprogo.
“Can’t give much of a message, just one word for today. For the kids and the organizers of your event, “Amazing”. Today’s spirit and joy will hopefully continue to survive and become a dampener of the spirit to achieve healing. Cheers!” Assegaf said in the middle of the event while accompanying the children to make works from origami.
After the origami-making event, start the distribution of happiness gifts for children according to the wishes of the children distributed to them at the end of the event.
“Thank you for being with us. It is great to get so many excavator toys. As I have wanted them for a long time, I have not had time to realize them. Thank you, I am pleased,” said Hafidz, a 5-year-old cancer survivor at Rumah Singgah Buah Hati Yogyakarta.
The event was closed by offering a prayer asking Allah the Almighty to increase strength and facilitate the way to seek healing.
