JAKARTA — Dompet Dhuafa, through the Free Health Service (LKC), held the RDK Partners Spread Benefits Program which involved Health Volunteers (Partners) and Jaringan Sehat Indonesia (JSI) on Friday (07/03/2025). This activity aims to increase public awareness of health and strengthen collaboration with program management partners to support health services for the poor.
With the theme of Ramadan 1446 H “There’s No Cure for the Cool!”, this program includes various activities, such as Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) screening, distribution of takjil (traditional snacks served during Ramadan), and an ambulance parade. NCD screening, which includes blood sugar and uric acid checks, was carried out at two locations, namely at the LKC Office, South Tangerang, and at the Philanthropy Building, South Jakarta. This screening aims to detect NCD risk factors early and prevent an increase in cases in the community. In addition, this activity is also part of health education efforts to make the community more concerned about their health.
In addition to health screening, an ambulance parade is also part of the series of events. This parade is an event to echo Palestinian independence. A total of 40 ambulance cars from various agencies that are members of Rekan and JSI enliven the streets of Jakarta. The parade route started from the LKC Office to the Dompet Dhuafa Philanthropy Building, passing through several strategic points in South Jakarta such as Pondok Indah, Cipete, Blok M, Senopati, and Mampang Prapatan. With the excitement of this parade, it is hoped that the spirit of the community to defend Palestinian independence will never fade.

Arriving at the Philanthropy Building, the Partners and JSI then gathered in the Sasana Budaya Hall. There, they warmly chatted with each other as well as a consolidation event to strengthen the fraternity network.
Yeni Purnamasari, Head of the Funding and Strategic Partnership Division of YRST, in her remarks emphasized the importance of caring for public health, especially in preventing non-communicable diseases. For her, Ramadan is a moment of reflection and sharing. Through this activity, Dompet Dhuafa hopes to further increase public awareness of the importance of health. It is also a means of strengthening relationships with volunteers, health partners, and the community.
“Prevention is better than cure. Therefore, this activity is a concrete step in providing benefits for the community,” she said.

Yeni then explained that JSI was initially launched in 2023 as an innovation of the RDK program to improve access to and health services for the poor. The network consists of foundations, organizations, and health volunteers who provide ambulance services, patient assistance, and health insurance advocacy.
JSI emphasizes Safety Driving, Defensive Driving, and Basic Life Support training for its members. Initially, this network was present in 12 regions, now it has expanded to 23 provinces with 204 communities/institutions. By 2024, JSI had handled 4,455 cases.
One of the health volunteers, Arvin, a representative of Lily Ambulance Service, Bogor Regency, expressed his pride in being able to be involved in this activity. As a volunteer, he feels happy to be involved and contribute in helping the community, especially in the health sector. According to him, there are still many people who are not aware of the importance of early health checks, even though they look so healthy. Therefore, through this activity, he is happy to be able to provide direct education to the community.

The day-long activity involved 50 health volunteers, 40 JSI ambulance units, and successfully conducted health screenings for 200 residents. The event closed with a motivational session by the Vice Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation, Herdiansyah, followed by breaking the fast together as a symbol of togetherness and social care. In this session, the volunteers and health workers, as well as the beneficiaries, were seen to be very warm in the atmosphere of togetherness.
“We want this Ramadan to be a momentum for sharing kindness and benefits more widely for the community. The more people who get involved, the greater the positive impact we can achieve together,” concluded Herdi.
The success of the RDK Partners Spread the Benefits Program will be an example for various parties to participate in efforts to improve the welfare and health of the community. Of course, not only in the month of Ramadan, but also afterwards in everyday life. With a spirit of collaboration and care, Dompet Dhuafa will always help the poor community to feel the direct benefits of various social and health programs. (Dompet Dhuafa)
