BOGOR — On Thursday (August 25, 2022), the handover of Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS) coupon funds for retail waqf sukuk (SWR) series 002 and 003 took place between CIMB Niaga Syariah and Dompet Dhuafa. The two CWLS series were allocated to two programs as follows: CWLS SWR 002 for a health program to procure medical equipment at Hasyim Asyari Hospital in Jombang, East Java.
Additionally, funds were allocated to an educational scholarship program for students at SMART Ekselensia Indonesia and E-Tahfidz in Parung, Bogor Regency, West Java. Meanwhile, CWLS 003 was allocated for a program to procure vehicles for religious outreach activities. The handover ceremony took place at SMART Ekselensia Indonesia in Parung, Bogor Regency, West Java.
The agenda began with a visit to observe the activities of SMART Ekselensia Indonesia students as part of Dompet Dhuafa’s educational program portfolio. General Manager of Wakaf Dompet Dhuafa Bobby Manullang expressed his gratitude for the extraordinary collaboration between CIMB Niaga Syariah and Dompet Dhuafa.
Philanthropy & Islamic Community Development Head of CIMB Niaga Syariah Bank, M. Irwan Zam Zam, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from Dompet Dhuafa. “Thank you also for accompanying us on the tour of SMART Ekselensia,” he said.
Irwan also said that this activity is CIMB Niaga Syariah’s first project on the waqf program through the CWLS instrument. He expressed his gratitude for the support of Dompet Dhuafa, which has optimized the potential of waqf through the CWLS instrument so that it can provide the widest possible benefits. “Hopefully, this collaboration can continue in the next series,” he said.
