This award is an important milestone that affirms the commitment of PT PLN UPT Makassar and Dompet Dhuafa to driving sustainable development in South Sulawesi. Through the Sinjai Coffee Empowered Village program, the community of Arabika Village, West Sinjai District, Sinjai Regency, is encouraged to become economically empowered while preserving the environment.

“This achievement is clear evidence that strategic collaboration between the business world and social institutions can accelerate the development of villages and disadvantaged areas. PLN UPT Makassar and Dompet Dhuafa will continue to be committed to delivering sustainable programs that directly benefit the community,” said Hary Subagyo, Senior Manager of Finance, Communications, and General Affairs at PT PLN UPT Makassar.

Meanwhile, Pandu Heru Satrio, Head of the South Sulawesi Branch of Dompet Dhuafa, said that this award is also a recognition by the government of the real impact of collaborative charitable work.

“This Silver rating is validation that charitable work does indeed have a sustainable impact on society. Hopefully, this collaboration will continue, so that more villages in Indonesia can become empowered and independent,” he said.

The Sinjai Coffee Empowered Village Program is one of the leading initiatives that synergizes local potential with community capacity building. Its main focus is on developing the economy of Sinjai’s distinctive Arabica coffee, improving farmers’ skills, strengthening farmer group institutions, and developing broader market access.

Not only focusing on economic aspects, this program also integrates social and environmental dimensions. Starting from educating the younger generation, strengthening the role of women, to implementing environmentally friendly practices in coffee processing. Thus, the benefits are not only felt economically, but also in the form of social welfare and the sustainability of the village ecosystem.

The achievements of Sinjai Coffee Empowered Village have inspired many parties that successful village development requires multi-stakeholder collaboration, namely the government, companies, social institutions, and of course the community as the main actors.

“This Silver Award is not only for PLN and Dompet Dhuafa, but also for the entire community of Arabika Village who have worked hard together. Hopefully, this will inspire other villages in Indonesia to become more empowered, independent, and sustainable,” added Hary Subagyo.

The CSR & PDB Awards are a form of appreciation for companies, institutions, and development partners that are considered successful in carrying out their social responsibilities and sustainable development programs in villages and disadvantaged areas. This event is expected to encourage the emergence of best practices that can be replicated in other areas, so that villages in Indonesia can grow more advanced and independent.

With the Silver award achieved this year, Desa Berdaya Kopi Sinjai further solidifies its position as a successful example of village development based on local potential, which not only boosts the community’s economy but also maintains environmental sustainability. (Dompet Dhuafa)
