JAKARTA — Despite the bustling activities of the 495th Jakarta Hajatan event at the Jakarta Fair (PRJ) on Friday (July 1, 2022), Ayu remained focused on listening to the volunteer experiences shared at the Dompet Dhuafa booth in the Jakarta Fair area that afternoon.
“I originally planned to just hang out with my family at the PRJ, since everyone was on holiday. When I entered the Jakarta Fair area and passed by the Dompet Dhuafa booth, I overheard a volunteer telling a story, and ended up focusing on listening,” said Ayu, one of the PRJ visitors.
“Allah moved my heart to immediately perform qurbani here. I heard that Dompet Dhuafa facilitates qurbani even in remote areas. There are even those who have never eaten meat for 8 years. Bismillah, may it be a blessing and benefit for all of us,” said Ayu.
Yes, Super Volunteers from Dompet Dhuafa, Dini Andromeda and Aliyah Sayuti, shared their experiences with the audience when distributing sacrificial meat to remote areas of Indonesia with the Dompet Dhuafa team during the previous Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) program.
“Actually, this is all thanks to many parties, especially the donors. I’m nothing compared to the beneficiaries, donors, and the Dompet Dhuafa team. I just shared a little about my experience participating in THK in eastern Indonesia. We entered the forest, crossed the sea, had no electricity, and poor signal, but what we witnessed and experienced there was truly amazing. The hospitality and social diversity we encountered were a lesson, and alhamdulillah, I hope it inspires others, even if just a little,” said Aliyah.
The mini talk show there was brief, but clear and captivating. In between, questions about sacrificial offerings and Dompet Dhuafa’s 29th anniversary were posed to visitors as an interactive quiz.
“Come to PRJ! Bring your friends and family, and have fun here. When it’s time for prayer, there’s no need to worry, as there is a Dompet Dhuafa prayer room here.
