JAKARTA -— Continuing the series of celebrations for its 29th anniversary, Dompet Dhuafa’s Fun Walk “greened” the Car Free Day (CFD) area in Jakarta on Sunday (July 3, 2022) morning. Hundreds of Dompet Dhuafa members simultaneously wore green T-shirts, the signature color of Dompet Dhuafa, participating in a healthy walking procession while encouraging the public to perform the sacrifice ritual ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Adha 1443 H through Dompet Dhuafa’s Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) program.
Since 6:00 a.m., Dompet Dhuafa volunteers have been gathering at the Kendal Dukuh Atas Tunnel. They invited their families to join them, then walked together to the HI Roundabout, turned around at Sarinah, and headed back to the Kendal Tunnel. The Free Health Service Team (LKC) was also on standby to provide health check-ups, and the Dompet Dhuafa Community Service Agency (LPM) distributed free snacks there.
“While walking with our families, we also encouraged the community to perform qurbani in anticipation of Eid al-Adha, which will soon arrive, inshaAllah. Even though it rained, it did not dampen the enthusiasm of the Dompet Dhuafa team and Super Volunteer, Aliyah Sayuti, during the CFD,“ explained Dian Mulyadi, Chair of the 29th Anniversary Committee of Dompet Dhuafa, during the Fun Walk event.
”Alhamdulillah, yesterday, Saturday, July 2, 2022, Dompet Dhuafa celebrated its 29th anniversary. This is undoubtedly due to the grace of the Guide of Life, the trust and support of the community, the #JadiManfaat collaboration with stakeholders, and the spirit of kindness from all Dompet Dhuafa staff. Thus, this anniversary series serves as an expression of gratitude and thanks from Dompet Dhuafa. Additionally, this local Fun Walk event was held as the first Eid al-Adha celebration in the CFD area after being postponed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” he added.
Yes, this year’s Dompet Dhuafa anniversary celebration is a moment to reflect on our journey with gratitude to Allah SWT for giving us the opportunity to help those in need for 29 years. In our mother tongue, we say: Matur Nuwun (Thank You), Mohon Ampun (Please Forgive Us), and Mohon Dituntun (Please Guide Us).
“The Fun Walk serves as a platform for sharing kindness, and today it is an invitation to sacrifice. Within it lies the joy of family and health. Of course, we hope that as we enter our 29th year, Dompet Dhuafa will continue to be a trustworthy institution that manages the funds of the community for the benefit of the poor,” said Rahmad Riyadi, Acting Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation, moments before the walk began.
Carrying the theme #KolaborAksiBangunNegeri, this is a representation of the spirit of all Dompet Dhuafa employees to continue to devote themselves to the interests of all Indonesian people, especially those in need. During the first celebration on Saturday (July 2, 2022), Dompet Dhuafa’s 29th anniversary was also enlivened by a vertical rescue performance by the Srikandi Disaster Management Center (DMC) Team of Dompet Dhuafa, who carried a giant banner bearing the logo of Dompet Dhuafa’s 29th anniversary from the top of the Philanthropy Building.
Additionally, a tumpeng cutting ceremony was held as an expression of gratitude to Allah SWT for Dompet Dhuafa’s achievements to date. Following the Fun Walk this morning, the Milad celebration will conclude with a thanksgiving ceremony by all Dompet Dhuafa staff at the Philanthropy Building the following day, Monday, July 4, 2022.
