TANGERANG –— Joy radiated from the faces of the children as they crowded the area of Gramedia Summarecon Mall Serpong (SMS) on Wednesday (November 5, 2025). A total of 154 orphans and underprivileged children from the Tangerang and South Tangerang areas were present to receive school kits, the result of a collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa and Gramedia Serpong (Region D).
The event, titled “Distribution of School Supply Donations,” is the latest in a series of collaborations aimed at demonstrating social responsibility toward the education of Indonesian children. The program is designed to support the learning spirit of children facing economic challenges, while also serving as a small step toward fostering a culture of literacy from an early age.

The event took place from 2:00 p.m. in a cheerful atmosphere with warm interactions between the children. Dompet Dhuafa and Gramedia staff were also enthusiastic in accompanying each series of activities. In her speech, Diana Rahma, Partnership Dompet Dhuafa, expressed her appreciation for Gramedia’s consistent support for social activities in the field of education.
“We are very grateful to Gramedia for being a good partner of Dompet Dhuafa in spreading benefits. Today, in addition to distributing school supplies, we want to ignite the spirit of learning in all of you. Hopefully, with these school kits, you will be even more enthusiastic about pursuing knowledge and realizing your dreams,” said Diana.

Meanwhile, Sulton, Representative of Summarecon Mall Serpong Management, expressed his appreciation to Gramedia and Dompet Dhuafa. He believes that this activity, which is part of Gramedia’s commitment, can support the advancement of education and literacy in Indonesia.
“Every child has the right to learn and develop. Through the collaboration between Gramedia and Dompet Dhuafa, we hope to bring more happiness to all of you. May these school supplies motivate them to continue studying hard and achieving great things,” he said.
The event was lively and warm. The children were enthusiastic about participating in various interactive games led by their older brothers and sisters from Dompet Dhuafa. Their laughter filled the room, adding to the lively atmosphere of meaningful sharing.
Then came the most eagerly awaited moment. The Dompet Dhuafa and Gramedia teams distributed the school kits one by one to the children. The school kits contained learning supplies such as bags, notebooks, stationery, and other equipment. With beaming faces, each child received the package while expressing their gratitude and showing their happiness.
“I’m so happy to get a new bag and stationery. I’m excited to go back to school,” said one of the beneficiaries with a big smile.

In addition, the team from the Community Service Institute (LPM) Dompet Dhuafa distributed pocket money to each child. This is a form of additional support to motivate them in their learning activities.
Through this program, Dompet Dhuafa and Gramedia hope to encourage the learning spirit of children from underprivileged families.
“We hope that activities like this will not stop here, but will be the first step in continuing to provide more empowerment and literacy programs for the community,” concluded Diana. (Dompet Dhuafa)
