Present in Bogor, Dompet Dhuafa Together with Pedooli Distributes Donations Again in the Al-Quran Alms Program

BOGOR, WEST JAVA —— After successfully distributing dozens of copies of the Quran in East Jakarta, KolaborAksi kebaikan Dompet Dhuafa, together with the well-known Indonesian platform Pedooli, is now present in Bogor Regency. Departing from the Philanthropy Building Dompet Dhuafa, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, the team headed to one of the Islamic study groups in Kutamekar Village, Cariu District, Bogor Regency, to distribute donations from the Quran Charity program funded by Pedooli platform users.

This Islamic study group, led by Ustaz Dedi Iskandar, holds daily Quran recitation sessions for children in Kutamekar Village in the afternoon and evening. Despite the simple conditions, Ustaz Dedi Iskandar sincerely teaches religious knowledge and recites the Quran without charging a single penny. However, the children’s enthusiasm for attending the study sessions is very high, with dozens of students attending every day with whatever equipment they have.

The Quran owned by the majelis taklim founded by Ustaz Dedi Iskandar is also limited, no more than 10 copies, and the children have to take turns using them. When the Dompet Dhuafa team came to visit on Saturday (6/11/2022), the faces of the children who were present were beaming with happiness. They seemed eager to receive 50 copies of the Quran from Pedooli users and Dompet Dhuafa.

“The children who come here are usually from around Kutamekar Village, and most of their parents are farmers. They come to learn with whatever resources they have, but because of their high spirits, I also feel motivated to nurture them in terms of Islamic education. The Qurans and Iqras available here are limited; after all, it’s just a village-level Quran study group,” explained Ustaz Dedi.

Fahri, one of Ustaz Dedi’s students who is currently in the fourth grade of elementary school, is very happy and grateful for the Al-Quran Donation program from Dompet Dhuafa and Pedooli.

“Thank you to the brothers and sisters from Dompet Dhuafa and the kind people from Pedooli for coming and giving us new Qurans here. The Qurans are really good, and they have translations so we can learn to read the Quran and understand what we are reading,” said Fahri.

This time, Pedooli entrusted the distribution of donations from its users through Dompet Dhuafa in the Sedekah Al Quran program. This program is an effort to provide access to the Al Quran to communities across the country. As the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, it turns out that the fulfillment of Al Quran needs has only reached 2% of the total requirement of 2 (two) million Al Quran copies each year.

“Thank you, Dompet Dhuafa and Pedooli, for coming all the way here to bring joy to the children. May this serve as motivation for the children to learn to read the Quran along with its meanings. For Dompet Dhuafa and Pedooli, may this kindness bring #Benefit and blessings to us all,” concluded Ustaz Dedi. (Dompet Dhuafa / Arlen)
