JAKARTA —–— This year’s Ramadan has been marked by various acts of kindness from many parties, both individuals and companies. One such example is inDriver, a leading online transportation service provider in Indonesia, which has shown its concern for others by launching the “Ramadan with inDriver” program in collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa.
This program aims to help people whose economic conditions have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic over the past two years. In line with the virtues of the holy month of Ramadan, which teaches the meaning of sacrifice, empathy, and sharing kindness, inDriver and Dompet Dhuafa held various social service activities at the Dompet Dhuafa Sehati Shelter in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, and Ciputat, South Tangerang, Banten, in the form of distributing food packages and iftar packages on Thursday (4/28/2022).

This is not the first time inDriver has carried out charitable activities for the wider community. Previously, during Ramadan, inDriver collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa to organize numerous activities. In addition to Jakarta, various other charitable activities were also carried out in several cities, such as Bandung and Bogor, West Java, on April 25.
The food packages distributed contained various daily necessities such as rice, canned food, instant noodles, flour, sugar, tea, and cooking oil, which have recently been difficult for the community to access. In addition to meeting daily needs, this initiative is intended to help ease the burden on the community in purchasing basic necessities, which usually experience price increases during holidays.

“So we have a series of activities in collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa to distribute food packages and iftar packages in three cities, namely Bandung, Bogor, and Jakarta. Currently, we have distributed around 575 food packages to these three cities and 435 iftar packages. For Jakarta, we will distribute 200 food packages and 145 iftar packages,” explained Novita Lestari NT, Driver Acquisition Specialist (Operations) at inDriver.
Dompet Dhuafa’s involvement in the charitable activities carried out by inDriver is not without reason. inDriver wants to expand the reach of beneficiaries in this activity, which is why Dompet Dhuafa has been entrusted to be a partner in distributing various forms of assistance. inDriver and Dompet Dhuafa have even succeeded in distributing various forms of assistance in three cities in a relatively short time.

“As we know, Dompet Dhuafa targets underprivileged communities, so we not only want to show our concern for our drivers but also want to show our concern for underprivileged communities in these three cities. So we are collaborating with Dompet Dhuafa so that we can target more people who can benefit from Ramadan this year,” he continued.
Wahyu Purnomo, who is familiarly called Putra, has been earning a living as an online motorcycle taxi driver at inDriver for four years and feels grateful and thankful for the basic food assistance on this occasion. “This activity is very helpful for drivers, especially now that the community’s economy is also declining, so the social service activities from inDriver and Dompet Dhuafa are very helpful. Putra expressed his heartfelt thanks to both inDriver and Dompet Dhuafa for organizing this event, hoping that it will continue to provide benefits to the wider community,” said Putra while collecting the food packages at the Selter Sehati Dompet Dhuafa shelter.

Ahmad Faqih, GM of Fundraising at ZIS Dompet Dhuafa, expressed his gratitude for inDriver’s trust in collaborating with Dompet Dhuafa as a partner in distributing food packages and iftar meals to those in need. “We hope that the collaboration between inDriver and Dompet Dhuafa will benefit the community during this blessed month. We also hope that the synergy between inDriver and Dompet Dhuafa will continue in the future so that more powerful programs can be created and provide broader benefits to the community. Aamiin,” concluded Faqih. (Dompet Dhuafa / Arlen)
