Building Civilization, Bambang Widjojanto Greets Beneficiaries of Dompet Dhuafa’s Farming Village Program

WEST JAVA —-— Bambang Widjojanto (BW) visited the zakat empowerment program area for farmers under the guidance of Dompet Dhuafa West Java, accompanied by the Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation Rahmat Riyadi and the Director of Communications and Strategic Alliances of Dompet Dhuafa Bambang Suherman.

In addition to the field visit, BW also participated in a direct discussion with the farmers who are beneficiaries of the Desa Tani Program. During the meeting, BW, the board members, and directors of Dompet Dhuafa listened to the presentation of the concept of the Farming Village Program from start to finish, starting from program preparation, provision of agricultural production facilities, intensive assistance and guidance from Dompet Dhuafa West Java, to marketing carried out by the group.

BW reminds farmers and Dompet Dhuafa that Desa Tani is not just an empowerment program but also a means of building the nation’s civilization. This is so that farmers in this country can continue to grow and become empowered. In this country, the farming profession is still looked down upon, even though it is farmers who ensure our food supply.

Desa Tani is the embodiment of the promise of social welfare that must be fulfilled by this nation. Desa Tani pays attention to the problems faced by poor farmers and helps them become independent and sustainably prosperous. Desa Tani has the motto “Empowered on Our Own Land,” encouraging poor farmers to rise from their usual position as laborers on other people’s land to now be able to manage their own land while continuing to have a positive social impact on the surrounding environment.

Message from Bambang Widjojanto

In addition to appreciating what has been done, BW also provided education on the challenges that Desa Tani will face in the future. This way, farmers will be ready for the developments and challenges of the future.

The Tani Village program is undoubtedly an empowerment program with a significant impact. However, there are many obstacles that must be overcome in the process. Attitude remains the key to future success. Good farmers are supported by a good attitude, enabling them to become wiser and more mature in implementing their agricultural programs.

“A simple thing that is usually difficult to do is to remain humble even after achieving success,” said BW to all the farmers and participants attending this event. (Dompet Dhuafa / Jabar / Aldita Nur Rochmah)
