TANGERANG —-— Heavy rains that have been pounding the city of Tangerang since Friday (March 6, 2026) evening caused flooding in the Total Persada Raya Housing Complex in Tangerang City, Banten, on Saturday (March 7, 2026). The high intensity of the rain caused several residential areas to be flooded, with water levels varying in depth.
Water levels reportedly reached approximately 30 to 350 centimeters (cm), preventing some residents from leaving their homes due to flooded roads.
In response to the situation, on Saturday (March 7, 2026), the Dompet Dhuafa Disaster Management Center (DMC) team moved quickly to evacuate flood-affected residents to safer locations.

Adib Wajih Alirfan, a DMC Dompet Dhuafa volunteer on the scene, reported that 35 residents were successfully evacuated from the affected area. The survivors included 15 adult men, 10 adult women, 5 boys, and 5 girls.
“They had previously been staying in their respective homes because access out of the settlement was cut off due to the high floodwaters,” said Adib.
The flood is known to have submerged the areas of RT 07/RW 15 and RT 10/RW 07 in the Total Persada Raya Housing Complex. As the evacuation process was underway, water was still flooding residents’ homes and showed no signs of receding.
During the rescue operation, the DMC Dompet Dhuafa team used rubber boats to reach residents’ homes that were isolated by floodwaters. This measure was taken to ensure that all residents in need of assistance could be safely evacuated immediately.

In addition to conducting evacuations, Dompet Dhuafa’s Disaster Management Center (DMC) also provides humanitarian assistance at evacuation centers. Through the “Pos Hangat” program, survivors receive iftar meals to break their fast while staying at the evacuation centers.
Volunteer teams continue to monitor flood conditions to ensure the safety of residents in the affected areas.
Dompet Dhuafa invites the public to join in praying for the extreme weather conditions in the Jabodetabek area to improve soon, so that people can carry out their daily activities and Ramadan fasting more safely and comfortably. (Dompet Dhuafa)
