Citibank’s Muslim Family Brings Smiles Back to 1,000 Orphans in Partnership with Dompet Dhuafa

JAKARTA —-— Citibank Muslim Family (KMC) has once again partnered with Dompet Dhuafa to distribute aid to 1,000 orphans in five major cities across Indonesia. The distribution began in Jakarta as part of the “Ramadan Berbagi” event held at the Bamadita Rahman Orphanage Foundation on Saturday (March 7, 2026).

This aid program aims to provide moral and material support to orphaned children, while fostering a spirit of sharing within the community. In addition to Jakarta, similar activities are planned to take place in several other cities, such as Bogor, Bekasi, Surabaya, and Medan.

The Chairman of the Citibank Muslim Family (KMC), Yasin Tajudin, stated that this initiative has been running for approximately nine years. Sharing joy with orphanage children is routinely carried out every Ramadan as a form of social compassion for orphans and the underprivileged.

“We want to help underprivileged children so that they too can experience the joy of Ramadan,” he said.

Yasin added that the aid provided is intended for the children to use according to their needs, such as to buy books, school supplies, or other necessities.

“Although the amount isn’t large, they can use it to buy books, new clothes, or other necessities,” he said.

He also explained that the partnership with Dompet Dhuafa has been in place for quite some time, even before this support program began. The relationship stems from a historical connection between the founder of KMC and the figure who later established Dompet Dhuafa.

“The relationship has been around for a very long time, so it does have a long history,” said Yasin.

He hopes that this charity event can bring happiness and motivation to the orphans to continue pursuing their education and living their lives with enthusiasm.

“Hopefully, they will find motivation and happiness during Ramadan with a little help from us,” he said.

In line with this, Dompet Dhuafa’s Fundraising Manager, Yudha Andilla, hopes that the partnership between KMC and Dompet Dhuafa will continue every year, so that more people can feel the impact of these social programs.

“Hopefully, this partnership can continue every year so that more benefits can be felt by the beneficiaries,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hamim Tohari, Chairman of the Bamadita Rahman Orphanage Foundation, noted that the foundation he leads has been officially established since 1996 and continues to grow to this day. In addition to managing the orphanage, the foundation also operates several educational institutions and religious facilities, including kindergartens, madrasahs, mosques, and junior high schools (MTs).

On this occasion, he expressed his appreciation for the orphan support event organized by KMC and Dompet Dhuafa. According to him, the event brought joy to the children under the foundation’s care.

“This afternoon’s charity event is very joyful for our children and very beneficial for them,” said Hamim.

He explained that the children supported by the foundation consist of those living in orphanage dormitories as well as orphans from outside the orphanage who continue to receive support.

Hamim also noted that the charity events and communal iftar organized by KMC and Dompet Dhuafa at the foundation have been taking place for several years.

“We are deeply grateful for the trust placed in our foundation,” he said.

Hamim hopes that these social activities can continue and serve as a form of social compassion that benefits orphaned children.

“May Allah the Almighty reward our good deeds and charity toward these children with multiplied blessings,” he concluded.

In addition to the symbolic donation handover, the event also featured various entertainment and educational activities for the children, such as children’s storytelling, performances by the children from the orphanage, and a Ramadan sermon.

Through this activity, it is hoped that happiness can be brought to the orphaned children while strengthening the bonds between the community, donors, and social institutions in the spirit of sharing during the holy month of Ramadan.
