JAKARTA —-— Global Peace Convoy Indonesia (GPCI) officially dispatched its delegation to attend an international conference in Brussels, Belgium, as part of its efforts in humanitarian diplomacy and global peace. For this mission to Brussels, the Indonesian delegation flew from Jakarta on Sunday (April 19, 2026) evening.

The Global Peace Convoy Indonesia delegation consists of national figures with strong track records in social, religious, and political fields. They include Wanda Hamidah (Human Rights Activist and Pro-Palestine Advocate), Prof. Sudarnoto (Chair of the MUI’s Foreign Relations and International Cooperation Division), Arif Rahmadi Haryono (General Manager of Advocacy at Dompet Dhuafa), Prof. Heru Susetyo (Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia), Feri Amsari (Constitutional Law Expert), as well as Gustika Jusuf Hatta (Researcher and Human Rights Activist).

Indonesia’s participation in this forum represents a tangible contribution by civil society toward fostering peaceful solutions to various global conflicts that lead to humanitarian crises. Through a dialogue-based approach and cross-national collaboration, the delegation is expected to convey Indonesia’s perspective, which upholds the values of justice, humanity, and peace.

While in Brussels, the GPCI delegation will participate in various strategic activities, including panel discussions, meetings with international stakeholders, and policy advocacy forums focused on efforts toward peaceful and sustainable conflict resolution.

“God willing, this evening six delegates from the Global Peace Convoy Indonesia will depart for Brussels to attend the global congress. The goal is to highlight or send a message to the entire world regarding the humanitarian blockade imposed by the Zionists on Gaza and Palestine,” stated Arif RH, the GPCI delegation representative from Dompet Dhuafa.

“I believe this is a crucial moment for Indonesia to strengthen its stance in support of the Palestinian people’s struggle,” he added.

Representatives of the Global Peace Convoy Indonesia stated that the delegation’s presence carries not only the organization’s name but also the aspirations of the Indonesian people for a more peaceful and just world.

“This is part of a collective effort to ensure that the voice of humanity remains present and is championed at the global level. There, we also advocate for and prioritize the mission to open the gates for humanitarian aid to enter conflict zones,” said Prof. Sudarnoto, a GPCI delegation representative from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

Through this participation, Indonesia reaffirms its role as a nation actively promoting world peace, in line with the constitutional mandate to help establish world order based on independence, lasting peace, and social justice.

“So, this diplomacy ensures pressure is applied to the Israeli government and its allies, such as the United States, to allow humanitarian aid access. Humanitarian aid must not be targeted by fire, as that violates international humanitarian law. This political pressure is crucial as the main foundation for various humanitarian efforts,” added Feri Amsari, a GPCI delegate who is also a constitutional law expert.

Moving forward, the hope is that this initiative can strengthen global collaboration networks and open up broader spaces for dialogue in the search for inclusive and sustainable peaceful solutions. (Dompet Dhuafa)
