Dompet Dhuafa’s BINGKAS Photo Book Receives Appreciation from the Governor of West Sumatra

PADANG, WEST SUMATRA —-— To conclude a series of events aimed at fostering connections and strengthening post-disaster economic cooperation in West Sumatra, a heartwarming moment took place on the veranda of the West Sumatra Governor’s Palace. Ahmad Juwaini, Chairman of the Board of Dompet Dhuafa, personally presented a photo book titled BINGKAS to the Governor of West Sumatra, Mahyeldi Ansharullah.

This photo book is a work of visual journalism by Dompet Dhuafa photographers, compiling portraits of the response to hydrometeorological disasters in three regions—West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh—from 2025 to 2026. Mahyeldi appeared enthusiastic as he turned page after page of the book, which presents a visual narrative of the events, struggles, solidarity, and ultimately the hopes and resilience of disaster survivors.

The release of the BINGKAS photo book is expected to serve as a reminder to the public of the importance of disaster mitigation, while also inspiring people to continue fostering a spirit of mutual cooperation in facing future natural challenges. (Dompet Dhuafa)
