JAKARTA — Public concern for the humanitarian crisis in Palestine continues to grow. Youth communities centered around fan cultures are also getting involved. This time, the My Day and Jars Social Project (MDJSP) community has collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa to distribute humanitarian aid totaling Rp50 million to the Palestinian people, who continue to face a prolonged emergency.

Since the outbreak of major conflict escalation in October 2023, conditions in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, have faced a multidimensional crisis. The latest data from various international humanitarian organizations indicate that tens of thousands of civilians have been affected, with the majority being women and children. Additionally, millions of residents now live with limited access to food, clean water, healthcare, and adequate housing due to the destruction of infrastructure.

These conditions have touched the hearts of many, including the My Day and Jars Social Project (MDJSP) community—a fanbase (fandom) of the South Korean band DAY6 and solo artist eaJ/Jae—which focuses not only on a love for music but is also active in various social and humanitarian activities.

Nunik Muhayani, the Fandom Leader of MDJSP, explained that her community consistently initiates various cross-issue social projects, ranging from humanitarian aid, environmental causes, to animal welfare.

“My Day and Jars Social Project is a community that aims to make a real impact. We believe that fandom is not just about a hobby, but can also serve as a platform for sharing and helping others,” said Nunik.

In the fundraising process, MDJSP utilizes digital platforms to reach more donors. Donations are collected online through various channels such as the Kitabisa crowdfunding platform, Google Forms, and QRIS digital payments. Campaign information is disseminated via social media platforms like X (Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok to expand public participation.

According to Nunik, every project carried out by MDJSP has a different objective, tailored to the issues currently facing the community. However, the fundraising campaign for Palestine is a particularly important expression of solidarity given the worsening situation.

“Since the large-scale genocide that has been ongoing without cease since October 2023, we felt it was necessary to play a role. “This donation, channeled through Dompet Dhuafa, marks our third contribution to Palestine,” she added.

Dompet Dhuafa, as a philanthropic organization with a long history of addressing global humanitarian issues, warmly welcomes this collaboration. Through its humanitarian network, Dompet Dhuafa ensures that the aid distributed reaches the Palestinian communities most in need.

Dimas Muttakhin, Community Relations Officer at Dompet Dhuafa, expressed appreciation for the initiative taken by the MDJSP community, particularly in mobilizing young people to actively engage in humanitarian action.

“Alhamdulillah, this collaboration is proof that compassion knows no bounds. We deeply appreciate the efforts of our friends at My Day and Jars Social Project for initiating this movement. May such synergy continue to flourish and bring even broader benefits,” said Dimas.

For MDJSP, this collaboration is not merely about distributing aid, but part of a long-term commitment to continuously create a positive impact on the wider community.

“We always hope that every effort we make can contribute and be beneficial. We want to continue being a community known not only for our love of K-Pop, but also for our concrete actions in helping others,” said Nunik.

In addition, MDJSP also expressed its hopes for Dompet Dhuafa as a collaborative partner.

“We hope that Dompet Dhuafa can continue to be an organization that is open to collaborating with various communities and maintains transparency in its reporting. That way, the benefits provided can be even more widespread and reach more of our brothers and sisters around the world,” he added.

This collaboration serves as proof that global solidarity can emerge from anywhere. Through the synergy between My Day and Jars Social Project and Dompet Dhuafa, it is hoped that more people will be inspired to contribute to helping Palestine. (Dompet Dhuafa)
