GOWA, SOUTH SULAWESI —— Dompet Dhuafa is one of the health development partners in a pilot project for a public-private partnership (PPP) program that serves as a model for implementing the latest Minister of Health Regulation (PMK) on PPPs, facilitated by HP+ and USAID.
This initiative aims to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates, which can be accompanied by efforts to eliminate stunting through educational programs and support for pregnant women during checkups and pregnancy monitoring.
The pilot project is the Rumah Tunggu Kelahiran (RTK) program in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. It serves as a shelter for pregnant women and high-risk pregnant women while they are being referred to health facilities.

“RTK will improve access to health care facilities and prevent delays in emergency care for pregnant women, women in labor, postpartum mothers, and newborns in areas with limited access,” explained Asdin, Head of the Free Health Services (LKC) program at Dompet Dhuafa South Sulawesi.
“And it will strengthen coordination and synergy among stakeholders through contributions to efforts to reduce maternal mortality among pregnant women and high-risk pregnant women in Gowa Regency,” he continued.
The RTK Plus (Rumah Tunggu Kelahiran Plus) support program pilot project, which serves as the regency-level RTK, acts as a referral center for various sub-district-level RTKs in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. In collaboration with HP+ and USAID, this initiative is also being carried out together with relevant stakeholders and will serve as a model for cooperation with local governments, health departments, Dompet Dhuafa partners, the South Sulawesi CSR Forum, Indofood, and the NGO Jas Publik.
