DEPOK, WEST JAVA – As a form of humanity and welcoming the holy month of Ramadan, Avicenna Cinere Elementary School is once again raising funds to help friends with disabilities. This act of kindness was carried out through the Tarhib Ramadan Parade action with Dompet Dhuafa which was held on Friday (3/8/2024).
This is not the first collaboration between Avicenna Elementary School and Dompet Dhuafa. In addition to fundraising, the students at Avicenna Elementary School were also taught the value of caring for others through cheerful storytelling activities at Tarhib Ramadan delivered by Kak Resha.
Kak Resha, a storyteller from Dompet Dhuafa, incorporates the values of Islamic brotherhood into the fairy tales he tells. Children are provided with knowledge about the benefits of Ramadan fasting and the virtue of helping others.
“Ramadan fasting reminds us all of the struggles of our hungry brothers and sisters. Imagine that we want to eat here, but our friends out there still have a hard time eating. So, this month of Ramadan is actually our opportunity to share, because the rewards we get will be multiplied by Allah SWT,” he said.

In addition, Ustaz Rahman, a teacher at Avicenna Elementary School, also hopes that this collaboration can strengthen the students’ empathy and the benefits of donation activities can be felt by friends with disabilities who are helped later. Meanwhile, Dompet Dhuafa’s Direct Network Officer, Neng Nadiyya, said that the cooperation that had been established several times was due to the public’s trust, especially schools, in Dompet Dhuafa.
“We are very grateful to our friends at Avicenna Elementary School because their enthusiasm for helping our brothers and sisters is extraordinary. Especially in the Braille Qur’an charity program which, thank God, has been running for a long time at Dompet Dhuafa. May our brothers’ efforts to learn to read the Qur’an be made easier, as will the Avicenna Elementary School students in their pursuit of knowledge,” he said.

Ustaz Rahman added that the school is very grateful to have been able to collaborate with Dompet Dhuafa in recent years.
“Dompet Dhuafa is one of the most credible institutions. We are grateful to be involved in this collaboration. We hope that this relationship will continue, that the students will also benefit from the activities, and that our brothers and sisters in need will be helped,” he said. (Dompet Dhuafa)
