MATSUDO, JAPAN — In order to enliven the holy month of Ramadan, Dompet Dhuafa Japan Branch collaborated with the Islamic Community Learning Center Tokiwadaira and the Indonesian Muslim Community House Chiba (RUUMUICHI) to hold the Al-Qur’an Recitation and Ramadan Study Program (Takara).

This activity is routinely held every morning after Fajr prayer during the month of Ramadan. The Takara program is carried out with full devotion, even though every morning Japan is hit by temperatures reaching minus 1 degree Celsius. Dai Ambassador Dompet Dhuafa‘s Japanese assignment, represented by Ustaz Hifni Nashif and Ustaz Firman Mansir, also plays a role in this program, which is to fill in the study after tadarus.

GM Dompet Dhuafa Japan, Dr. H Ach Firman Wahyudi, said that the Takara Program is a strategic Ramadan program of Dompet Dhuafa Japan in an effort to increase the interaction of Muslims there with the Al-Qur’an in the holy month of Ramadan 1446 H. In addition, this program also aims to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Muslim diasporas in Japan.

“The month of Ramadan is the month of the Qur’an. So as a Muslim in a minority country, we must always interact intensely with the word of God. Dompet Dhuafa is a means of doing good,” said Firman.

On Wednesday (05/03/2025), the Takara Program began with a reading of the Qur’an in turns, divided by page. After that, there was a study session led by Ustaz Hifni Nashif. This study discussed the interpretation of verses from Surah Al-Baqarah. After the lecture session, the activity continued with a question and answer session on the theme of the study. Then, at the end of the activity, the participants recited a prayer after reading the Qur’an and closed with the assembly’s closing prayer.

With the implementation of this daily agenda, it is hoped that the Takara Program participants will obtain takara (Japanese), which in Indonesian means treasure.

“Takara here is interpreted as abundant rewards and blessings and being able to reap the rewards of the Ramadan fast, namely becoming pious people, graduating from the Ramadan madrasah with the title of piety,” concluded Firman. (Dompet Dhuafa)
