Quality Ramadan from SD Smart School, Entrepreneurship while Giving Alms

SD Smart School serahkan donasi kemanusiaan melalui Dompet Dhuafa pada Rabu (26/2/2025).

JAKARTA – In order to prepare for Ramadan 1446 H, SD Smart School together with Dompet Dhuafa held a talk show featuring a visually impaired Hafiz of the Qur’an on Wednesday (26/2/2025). This activity aims to provide experience and inspiration to the children of SD Smart School, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

This talk show is one of a series of Toy Fairs, an entrepreneurial activity by SD Smart School which is held at the same time to welcome the holy month. It is hoped that this talk show with Hafiz Qur’an Tunanetra can inspire children through his story of struggle. With interactive sessions, they can learn about perseverance and a spirit of never giving up and gain new insights from his experience.

“By memorizing the Qur’an well, we can be the pride of our parents, both in this world and in the hereafter. Read, memorize, and study the knowledge of the Qur’an, and take care of the Qur’an as best as you can. The better we take care of the Qur’an, the better the Qur’an takes care of us,” said Taufik Rohman, a representative of the students of the Raudlatul Makfufin Islamic Boarding School.

Through the Toy Fair, children bring their toys and then sell them at the Toy Bazaar. In addition to entrepreneurship, children also learn to share with each other because the proceeds from the sale of the toys, which amount to Rp. 5,000,000 (five million rupiah), are donated to the Wakaf Al-Qur’an Braille program to help people with disabilities, especially the visually impaired, to learn the Qur’an more easily and improve their quality of life.

Rahma, as Head of Smart School Elementary School, symbolically handed over a donation for the Braille Quran Waqf program to Dompet Dhuafa. Rahma expressed her pride in the concern of her students in helping the visually impaired.

“Dear friends, on this occasion today we will hand over a donation to the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation from the proceeds of yesterday’s entrepreneurial activities. This time we dedicate it to our visually impaired friends to make it easier for them to learn the Qur’an. Hopefully this will also be a means for all of us to safeguard and practice the Qur’an,” said Rahma.

SD Smart School together with Dompet Dhuafa held a talk show presenting a Hafiz Al Quran who has limited vision blind on Wednesday 2262025

The talk show session was interactive. In the question and answer session, children could ask questions directly and get answers from the perspective of a Hafiz who faces vision challenges. With this interaction, children not only learn that limitations are not a barrier to achieving their dreams, but also understand the importance of patience and perseverance in achieving goals.

Not only that, this event is also an arena for instilling the values of empathy and social awareness from an early age. Students are expected to appreciate more the diversity around them and realize that each individual has their own special qualities and potential.

In this activity, Nuriyah, as the School Network Officer of Dompet Dhuafa, expressed her gratitude and thanks to all SD Smart School stakeholders.

“I am grateful and proud of the Smart School elementary school students who are always enthusiastic about learning and memorizing the Al-Qur’an. With the presence of the Hafiz Tunanetra friends from the Raudlatul Makfufin Foundation today, hopefully it will increase their love for the Al-Qur’an and be an inspiration to all of you. I would also like to express my infinite gratitude to the teachers, students, and all the staff of Smart School Elementary School for the trust they have placed in us. May it be a charitable legacy and make it easier for them to learn at school,” said Nuriyah.

Dompet Dhuafa believes that education is not only about academics, but also about character building. By instilling these values from an early age, it is hoped that they can grow into individuals who not only excel, but also have a high social spirit to help others.

In the next program, Dompet Dhuafa hopes to continue organizing similar events in various other schools. With more and more children gaining inspiration and motivation, it is hoped that they will grow into a generation with a strong determination to achieve their dreams while making a positive contribution to society.
