Ramadan Parcels, Weaving Blessings in the Month of Kindness

JAWA BARAT — Not everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the month of Ramadan comfortably. While some people receive holiday allowances (THR) and gifts from work, many have to rely on the help of others. To help those less fortunate, Dompet Dhuafa distributed Ramadan parcels to 30 beneficiaries around Depok on Sunday (03/16/2025).

This assistance is intended for the elderly, single parent women, the needy, and mosque volunteers. The distribution of the parcels was carried out using two methods, namely direct delivery to the homes of the beneficiaries and partial delivery at the Syamsul Iman Mosque, Sawangan, Depok City, which is the center of religious and social activities for the local community.

Cipto, the Dompet Dhuafa Community Service Organization (LPM) team is responsible for this act of kindness. In the distribution process, he is assisted by Abdul Rasyad, head of the local neighborhood association.

Abdul revealed that the majority of people in his neighborhood work as freelancers with irregular incomes. Unlike company employees who receive THR and gifts from work, they can only hope that there are people willing to share.

“In our neighborhood, many work as day laborers, construction workers, small traders, and some even have no permanent job. They don’t get THR like office workers. Therefore, the presence of a program like this means a lot to them. We really appreciate the concern of Dompet Dhuafa, which is always there to help the small community,” he said.

Before carrying out this action, Cipto first coordinated with various parties, including the local social service and neighborhood association, so that the assistance provided would be truly targeted and effective.

“We realize that not everyone has the opportunity to get a THR or a Ramadan parcel. Therefore, Dompet Dhuafa is present as a bridge of kindness between those who have more sustenance and those in need. The hope is that this can reduce the gap and strengthen the relationship between the rich and the poor,” said Cipto.

One of the beneficiaries, Acep (65), said he was very grateful for the assistance he received. He, who only relies on gifts from neighbors on a daily basis, feels very helped by this Ramadan parcel.

“Alhamdulillah, I am very happy. I can’t work like I used to. With this assistance, I can welcome Ramadan with more peace of mind. May Allah reward the kindness of those who have helped, “said the father of six.

Meanwhile, Siti Zulaiha (45), a single mother of three, also felt the same happiness. She revealed that her economic condition had become more difficult after her husband passed away.

“Sometimes I am confused about how to meet the needs of the children, especially before Ramadan. But with this assistance, I feel that I am not alone. Thank you to all the donors and Dompet Dhuafa who have cared for us,” said Siti with emotion.

Cipto also invited the public to participate in the Ramadan parcel sharing program by donating via digital.dompetdhuafa.org/donasi/parselramadan or other Dompet Dhuafa donation channels. In addition, the public can also channel donations and zakat through Dompet Dhuafa offline counters spread across various shopping centers.

Apart from Depok, this program will continue to several other locations, such as Bogor, Bekasi, South Tangerang, and Central Jakarta. With this sharing program, it is hoped that more people will be able to experience the happiness of Ramadan without feeling alone in their limitations.

The month of Ramadan should be a time full of blessings and happiness for everyone, without exception. With this sharing movement, Dompet Dhuafa hopes to bring a smile to those in need and inspire more people to share in this holy month. (Dompet Dhuafa)
