TEBET, SOUTH JAKARTA — The Giving Zakat Movement, It’s Awesome! continues to be carried out by Dompet Dhuafa with one of the school networks, SD Adik Irma. This time, Dompet Dhuafa collaborated in initiating the Ramadan Ceria program which aims to educate students about zakat fitrah and instill values of kindness with fun activities such as zakat day, inspirational stories, games, talk shows with a blind hafiz, and special motivational sessions for children.
This activity took place over two days, March 20-21, 2025. It featured a professional storyteller, Kak Budi, who told inspiring stories about the wisdom of fasting and the importance of giving zakat.
With an interactive and fun approach, children are invited to understand the wisdom of fasting and how zakat fitrah can help those in need and strengthen concern for children.

In addition to the fairy tale, Ramadan Ceria was even more festive with a game session hosted by Kak Ridwan, a trainer and motivator. This game also educated children about Islam in a way that was expected to contain much wisdom while still being fun.
The talk show session, an interactive question and answer session with a visually impaired hafiz, also received great enthusiasm from the students and teachers of Adik Irma Elementary School. They are enthusiastic about learning the Braille Al-Qur’an, the Al-Qur’an used by the visually impaired.

As part of the series of events, a Zakat Day activity was also held for students, teachers, and parents. This activity aims to provide students with a direct opportunity to learn the practice of paying zakat fitrah directly.
Students are guided to read the intention and pray after paying zakat fitrah. With this Zakat Day, it is hoped that the spirit and participation in giving zakat will grow even more from an early age.
From Zakat Day, there was also a symbolic handover of zakat fitrah from Adik Irma Elementary School to Dompet Dhuafa. As the School Network Officer, Nuriyah, expressed her appreciation for the initiative of Adik Irma Elementary School in teaching about giving zakat from an early age.
“We believe that the habit of zakat fitrah must start from an early age so that children understand the importance of sharing with others. Through this activity, we hope that children can learn in a fun way and be able to apply the values of kindness in their daily lives,” she said.

Meanwhile, Nurul, as Irma’s younger elementary school teacher, said that the school wanted to build enthusiasm and instill positive values in its students.
“Ramadan is a month full of blessings, and through this activity, we want to build the spirit of sharing and instill values of caring for the younger generation. With stories and motivation, children can understand zakat fitrah better and feel motivated to live Ramadan with sincerity.”

With the cheerful Ramadan, it is hoped that more and more children will understand the importance of zakat fitrah and have a spirit of sharing from an early age. This collaboration is a concrete step towards creating a generation that cares more about sharing and living the Ramadan with meaning. (Dompet Dhuafa)
