MANILA, PHILIPPINES — On the occasion of the Eid al-Fitr Halal bi-Halal 1446 H, Monday (31/03/2025), the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Manila, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Agus Widjojo, expressed his appreciation for the English language skills of Ustaz Muhammad Abdul Aziz, Dai Ambassador Dompet Dhuafa 2025 who was assigned the mandate of da’wah in the Philippines.
“He (Muhammad Abdul Aziz) has accompanied all of us in Manila during the month of Ramadan, by filling (religious) events, especially Tarawih, which were attended by the Indonesian community and (the staff) of embassies from Islamic countries in Manila,” said the Indonesian Ambassador to Manila, Agus Widjojo, who also served as Governor of the National Defense Institute (Lemhanas).

“He has performed his duties well, with good English, perfect, clear, sharp, and not wordy. After I studied it, (the language skills) were indeed in place with the educational background he had undergone so far,” he continued.
“I would like to thank Ustaz Dr (Cand) Muhammad Abdul Aziz, S.H.I., MIRKH for doing his job well, culminating in his role as Khatib in the Eid al-Fitr prayer this morning,” said Agus.
During the Halalbihalal moment, Ambassador Agus Widjojo also exchanged souvenirs with Ustaz Muhammad Abdul Aziz, who each represented the Indonesian Embassy in Manila and Dompet Dhuafa. At the end of the event, Ambassador Agus Widjojo then invited the audience to contribute to supporting the empowerment of Muslims and humanitarian efforts through Dompet Dhuafa.
In general, Ambassador Agus Widjojo also appreciated the Dai Ambassador Program of Dompet Dhuafa which has helped the implementation of religious programs in the vicinity of the Indonesian Embassy in Manila.

“I see that the Dai Ambassador Program of Dompet Dhuafa is a good program to continue in the countries that Dompet Dhuafa is considering. For that, I would like to thank Dompet Dhuafa for assigning Dr. Muhammad Abdul Aziz to Manila,” said Agus.
“I would also like to thank Dr. Muhammad Abdul Aziz for donating his energy, thoughts, and time while carrying out his duties as Dai Ambassador Dompet Dhuafa in Manila. I wish him a safe return to his homeland. Good luck in his future career development,” concluded the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly for the 1999-2003 period.
