Volunteer Consolidation: Strengthening Social Collaboration, Da’wah, and Humanitarian Efforts

WEST JAVA — Dompet Dhuafa continues to strengthen synergies between programs and foster a spirit of collaboration among volunteers and collaborators for good. On Saturday-Sunday, May 3-4, 2025, the Program Implementation Partner of the Indonesian Human Resources Foundation (YSMI) Dompet Dhuafa organized a two-day Volunteer Consolidation Event for the Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi (Jabodetabek) region, titled “ID Humanity,” held at the Rawa Gede area in Sukamakmur, Bogor.

The event brought together dozens of volunteers from Dompet Dhuafa’s three main organizations, namely the Disaster Management Center (DMC), Community Service Institute (LPM), and Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa (Cordofa), as well as volunteers from campus communities and nature lovers in the Greater Jakarta area.

This consolidation was not merely a gathering for volunteers to socialize but also a platform for collective learning. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the characteristics and roles of each division while strengthening cross-functional collaboration to work synergistically in the field.

“Our hope is that volunteers in each division will become familiar with the three programs at ID Humanity, and that each volunteer can also experience the concrete actions of other program divisions when they go into the field,” said Narwan, Head of the Humanitarian Volunteer Division at ID Humanity Dompet Dhuafa.

During this event, the integration of the three volunteer programs at the Indonesian Community Resources Foundation (YSMI) Dompet Dhuafa was also discussed, with the aim of strengthening collaboration and enhancing the positive impact of various social initiatives being undertaken.

For two days, volunteers were involved in various activities, such as vision and mission awareness programs, cross-division socialization, ice breaking, thematic discussions, as well as dawn recitation and volunteer reflection.

The highlight of this activity was a social action in the form of beautifying the Al-Fatih Musala located in Kampung Leuweung Datar 3, Sinarjaya Village, Sukamakmur District, Bogor. Volunteers enthusiastically worked together to repaint and clean the musala so that it would look neater and more comfortable for local residents to use for worship.

This initiative serves as a tangible symbol of volunteers’ contributions to supporting community worship services, while also fostering a stronger sense of social responsibility and empathy among participants.

“This event was so much fun! Here, I got to meet other volunteers. It’s amazing because it brings together volunteers from across the Jakarta metropolitan area to collaborate and work toward a better future,” she said.

As a result, volunteers from both the nature-loving community and the general public also viewed this event as an important opportunity to get to know one another, share experiences, and strengthen the volunteer network of Dompet Dhuafa.

Through this consolidation, Dompet Dhuafa aims to emphasize that the strength of social and humanitarian movements does not lie in a single program, but in the unity of cross-divisional and individual efforts that complement one another. With a spirit of mutual cooperation and humanitarian values, volunteers are expected to become resilient agents of change within society. (Dompet Dhuafa)
