BOGOR – Dompet Dhuafa has long been a mainstay in the management of Zakat, Infak, Sedekah, and Wakaf (ZISWAF) in Indonesia. Not merely a fund collector and distributor, Dompet Dhuafa consistently initiates and supports various empowerment programs, one of which is through the development of Mitra Pengelola Zakat (MPZ). The MPZ concept is key to expanding the reach and impact of kindness to the grassroots level, enabling local communities to actively participate in achieving the well-being of the people.
MPZ reflects Dompet Dhuafa’s vision to empower communities to become self-reliant, with mosques as centers of civilization and hubs of kindness. Through this synergy, Dompet Dhuafa not only distributes aid but also nurtures and strengthens the capacity of local institutions to manage ZISWAF professionally, transparently, and sustainably. This collaboration ensures that every ZISWAF fund collected is utilized optimally, bringing new hope and fostering self-reliance for those in need.

On Saturday (July 12, 2025), Hakimah Wa Rohmah Mosque in Cibinong, Bogor, West Java, held the Muharram 1447 H Celebration with the theme “Strengthening Steps Toward Goodness.” This event is a clear demonstration of MPZ’s active role in promoting Islamic teachings and enhancing social awareness.
The Muharram Festival activities are designed to provide multidimensional benefits. A major religious lecture featuring Koh Dennis Lim offered spiritual enlightenment emphasizing the importance of faith and righteous deeds as the foundation for a broad and peaceful life. Koh Dennis Lim reminded the audience that purity of heart and mind is the key to the growth of faith, and such gatherings of knowledge are vital for nurturing self-confidence.
Additionally, the distribution of aid to orphaned and underprivileged children is a tangible expression of social responsibility, bringing hope and smiles to those most in need in the surrounding community. The presence of a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Bazaar also helps stimulate the local economy, providing opportunities for MSMEs around Masjid Hakimah Wa Rohmah to grow and become self-reliant.

The Chairman of the Hakimah Wa Rohmah Mosque Foundation, Syarif Hidayat, expressed his gratitude for the presence of the congregation and the support given. “We, as the administrators (of the Hakimah Wa Rohmah Mosque), ask for your support so that we can continue to serve the community. May we continue to uphold our trust and practice the teachings of hijrah,” he said.
Mochammad Ginanjar, Director of Baitulmaal Muamalat (BMM) Hakimah Wa Rohmah and activity coordinator, emphasized the importance of increasing worship, charity, and good deeds during the month of Muharram. “There is much we can do. Such as sharing with others,” he said. Ginanjar also explained that the partnership between BMM Hakimah Wa Rohmah and LAZ Dompet Dhuafa as an MPZ enables them to collect, manage, and distribute zakat to expand its benefits for the community.
Through the Muharram Festival, MPZ Masjid Hakimah Wa Rohmah not only celebrates the new year but also reaffirms its commitment to continue striving toward goodness, demonstrating that collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa can create tangible and sustainable impacts for the welfare of the community.
