SOUTH TANGERANG — Dompet Dhuafa and Gramedia World BSD brought smiles and happiness to 32 orphans and underprivileged children from the South Tangerang area at Gramedia World BSD on Monday (September 15, 2025).
With great enthusiasm, they participated in a series of activities, ranging from coloring, fun quizzes, to the highlight of receiving school kits to take home. Laughter and joy were evident on the faces of the children present. Accompanied by older siblings from Dompet Dhuafa, they immersed themselves in coloring activities that sharpened their creativity.
The activities continued with fun quizzes that added to the excitement, as each child tried to come forward and answer enthusiastically and competitively. This moment not only provided entertainment, but also fostered self-confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
Gramedia BSD Regional Manager Elizabeth Driemirda (Ida) revealed that this activity was a continuation of previous social programs by Dompet Dhuafa and Gramedia World BSD. This activity was made possible by the generosity of Gramedia customers who donated part of their income during the period from May to July 2025.
“This program has been ongoing since Ramadan, followed by the Al-Qur’an Waqf Program, shopping for school supplies for orphaned children, providing financial assistance, and now returning again through the school kit program for orphaned and underprivileged children,” explained Ida.

In addition to the school kit, Gramedia also added other supplies, namely the Al-Qur’an mushaf. According to Ida, the Al-Qur’an Waqf Program runs throughout the year through the participation of Gramedia customers. Not only that, the Dompet Dhuafa Community Service Institution (LPM) also contributed by distributing cash assistance to each orphan and poor child.
“Hopefully, this will be useful, and the children will be more enthusiastic in pursuing knowledge. The future of Indonesia lies in the hands of these children. I am also happy that this collaboration has spread and been adopted by other Gramedia outlets. Hopefully, this cooperation will continue to grow in the future,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Director of Da’wah and Social Services at Dompet Dhuafa, Ahmad Sonhaji, was also present and emphasized the importance of knowledge for the future of children. According to him, noble people are those who are broad-minded, which can be achieved by reading books, among other things. He also expressed his appreciation to Gramedia for opening the doors and windows to the world by providing a wide variety of reading materials.

“People become noble because they are knowledgeable and insightful. The way to become insightful and knowledgeable is by reading. By reading, we can learn about what is happening abroad, at the ends of the earth, and even in space. There are no limits,” he said.

For this umpteenth activity, Sonhaji also gave special appreciation to Gramedia, especially Gramedia BSD, which he believes has inspired Gramedia branches in various regions in Indonesia. His action of sharing kindness with orphans and the poor has been followed by many other Gramedia branches in various major cities, not only in the Greater Jakarta area.
The joy of this activity was felt directly by Qeeandra Mazzaya, a 9th grade student from Ciputat, who said she was happy to be able to participate from start to finish. She said she was happy because she got new school supplies. The activities were also exciting, including coloring and quizzes, so she could play while learning.

Nisa Yunita, a third-grade student from Ciputat, felt the same way. With a cheerful face, she said,
“Thank you, Dompet Dhuafa and Gramedia. I really enjoyed coloring, and I’m also happy to receive a school kit as a gift. Now I’m more excited to go to school.”
Through this collaboration, Dompet Dhuafa and Gramedia have successfully created a meaningful experience that fosters enthusiasm for learning and literacy. Behind the children’s laughter as they color and answer quizzes lies a great hope that they will grow into a generation that is knowledgeable, empowered, and ready to lead the nation’s future.
