SOUTH TANGERANG – Happy smiles lit up the faces of orphaned and underprivileged children as they received new school supplies at Gramedia Summarecon Mall Serpong on Saturday (08/23/2025). In that heartwarming moment, Dompet Dhuafa collaborated with Gramedia (Region D) and KPP PMA Satu Indonesia to distribute school kit donations to support their enthusiasm for learning.
For some children, having a new bag, notebook, and stationery may be commonplace. However, for those who grow up in limited circumstances, proper school supplies are a special gift that can ignite their passion for learning.
A total of 49 orphans and underprivileged children from South Tangerang and surrounding areas benefited from this act of kindness. In addition to receiving school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and other writing tools, the orphaned and underprivileged children also received cash assistance from the Community Service Institution (LPM) Dompet Dhuafa. This assistance is hoped to motivate them to continue their education and achieve their aspirations.

Diana Rahma, Partnership Dompet Dhuafa, together with Edi Sulistyono, Manager of Gramedia Summarecon Mall Serpong, happily distributed school kits to orphaned and underprivileged children.
“Education is an important foundation for the future. With the help of these school kits, we hope that the children will be even more motivated to continue learning and achieving. Thank you to Gramedia, KPP PMA, Gramedia customers, and all donors who have supported today’s event,” said Diana Rahma.
Meanwhile, Gramedia expressed its happiness to be involved in this act of kindness. It said that Gramedia is very concerned about underprivileged children, especially orphans and the underprivileged. Usually, it distributes donations to orphanages. However, this time, together with Dompet Dhuafa, it was very pleased to be able to invite the children directly to the store, introduce them to the world of literacy, and invite them to participate in exciting activities together.
“The donations are inseparable from the concern of Gramedia customers who participated in this program. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Gramedia customers. Hopefully, we can continue to do other good things,” said Edi Sulistyono.

Not only did they receive school kits, the children were also invited to participate in various interactive activities, from coloring with Dompet Dhuafa assistants to quizzes with attractive prizes that added to the cheerful atmosphere.
KPP PMA Satu Indonesia also expressed their high hopes for this activity. KPP PMA Satu Indonesia hopes that the donations distributed will benefit orphaned and underprivileged children.
“May these donations be of benefit to the children who receive them, so that they can increase their enthusiasm for learning, be diligent in everything, and become children who are useful to their surroundings,” said a representative of KPP PMA Satu Indonesia.

The children’s cheerfulness stems from kindness and caring, bringing simple yet meaningful happiness. One of them is M. Fajar Rival, a second grader from Ciater who came with his mother.
“It was fun to participate in today’s event. We got to draw and we also got school bags. There were other school supplies too, such as pencils, erasers, books, and others. The bags at home are already worn out and damaged, and cannot be repaired. I don’t want to use them because they are already worn out. Now I have a new bag, and I will use it tomorrow,” said Fajar innocently with a small smile.
Through this collaboration, Dompet Dhuafa, along with Gramedia and KPP PMA, hopes to continue igniting the learning spirit of orphaned and underprivileged children, so they can look toward the future with optimism. (Dompet Dhuafa)
