YOGYAKARTA — Dompet Dhuafa, through its Program Implementation Partner (MPP) Indonesia Berdaya, held the Grand Launching of the Container Canteen on Monday (June 15, 2025) in Bantul, Yogyakarta. This program is supported by UPZDK Permata Bank Syariah through the distribution of charitable funds as a realization of its full attention to the future development of sharia human resources.
Attending the inauguration of this program were Dyah Muhtarin as Vice Rector II for Financial Resources and Cooperation at UMY, Anna Rahmawati as Director of the Dompet Dhuafa Empowerment Program, and Zaih Mubarok as Chair of the Sharia Supervisory Board of the Sharia Business Unit and Advisor to UPZDK Permata Bank Syariah.

The head of the Dompet Dhuafa DIY branch, Muhammad Zahron, explained that this program aims to provide additional income and equip students with business management, financial, and customer service skills so that they can become future entrepreneurs.
“This is a student scholarship program packaged through a socio-enterprise scheme. In addition to providing benefits to student beneficiaries, this program can also be a new hope for surrounding MSMEs who want to sell their products at the Container Canteen, thereby providing the widest possible benefits. The Container Canteen is the 12th location to be launched at UMY. Of course, this program can be implemented thanks to the support of UPZDK Permata Bank Syariah, with the hope that it will become a driving force for improving the economy of the people of Indonesia,” said Zahron.

The existence of this program is a joy for the entire UMY academic community. Dyah Muhtarain is very grateful to all parties who brought the Container Canteen Program to UMY.
“The timing is perfect for this canteen to be inaugurated as UMY has just completed its new student admissions. In the future, students will frequent this canteen, ensuring that the goods sell well. With this canteen, we hope it can become one of the main activities for students to develop their entrepreneurial skills,” said Diyah.
