JAKARTA -— Dompet Dhuafa continues its efforts to improve the quality of life of the community. One of these efforts is through collaboration with PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia (PPI), a company engaged in the environmental and health sectors. This collaboration is realized through the distribution of the Standard and Affordable Healthy Sanitation Facilities Stimulus Assistance Program for the community in Tasikmalaya Regency. The distribution of assistance was carried out symbolically at the Dompet Dhuafa Philanthropy Building, Jakarta, on Thursday (9/25/2025).
In this program, the assistance provided is in the form of materials for the construction of healthy toilets for those who do not yet have proper sanitation facilities. This program is part of efforts to create a healthy environment while supporting clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) in the community. The focus of the intervention is now in Karsamenak Village, Kawalu District, Tasikmalaya, with a target of 120 households.
Danan, Manager of Dompet Dhuafa’s Free Health Services Program, explained that the program is currently still in the intervention and implementation phase in the field.
“These stages include capacity building through socialization and triggering, then we encourage them to change their behavior. Once they are committed, we will provide incentives for the construction of sanitation facilities, so that once they have changed, there will be facilities to support that,” said Danan.

According to him, the results of this program are not yet fully visible because it is still in the intervention and implementation stage in the field. Once the community shows a commitment to change, stimulus assistance will be provided in the form of sanitation facilities to support the clean living practices that have been implemented.
Furthermore, Danan emphasized that currently his party is still focused on the first pillar, namely efforts to end the habit of open defecation, because this is the main cause of the spread of infectious diseases in the environment. who previously did not have toilets and still practiced open defecation.
Ira Berlianty Aziz, Head of the Corporate Secretariat and TJSL Division of PT PPI, said that improving hygiene and sanitation is an important foundation for building community welfare.
“We see that sanitation and hygiene are fundamental assets in the community, especially since before we can improve welfare levels, it is clear that a healthy body reflects a strong spirit. and PPI, in this case, has a specific program related to the disease ecosystem and the environment in a sustainable manner. Hopefully, through the distribution of Dompet Dhuafa, this program can be effective, on target, beneficial, and sustainable for the community,” said Ira.

PT PPI, as a state-owned food holding company, is committed to distributing programs to trusted partners. It considers it important to distribute programs to partners with good management and administrative governance.
Based on this experience, PPI sees Dompet Dhuafa as a credible institution with experience in running various programs both domestically and internationally, thus providing PPI with greater confidence and comfort in establishing cooperation.
“I think that in the beginning, it was a big deal for someone in need. We started with good intentions. Even though this is what the company’s program requires, from a humanitarian perspective, we must help each other like this. Hopefully, we can change the system or environment to be more sustainable,” he continued.
