How fortunate are those who encounter the month of Ramadan. Not everyone has the opportunity to encounter Ramadan. How could they not? This holy month is a moment to receive mercy, forgiveness, and freedom from the fires of hell. Therefore, we must not let this year’s Ramadan pass by without meaning.
Checklist of Good Deeds Ahead of Ramadan
Here is Dompet Dhuafa’s checklist of good deeds that you can follow:
1. Dawn Alms
Shubuh alms have many virtues, from increasing the blessings in life, inviting sustenance, to erasing sins.
2. Prepare Takjil for the Needy
In a hadith, the Prophet Muhammad SAW said: “Whoever feeds a fasting person will receive the same reward as the fasting person, without diminishing the reward of the fasting person in the slightest.” (HR Tirmidzi)
3. Complete the Qur’an
One letter is rewarded with ten good deeds, answered prayers, protection, and inner peace. These are just a few of the many virtues of completing the Qur’an in Ramadan.
4. Sprint Lailatul Qadar
To achieve this night of glory, Muslims are encouraged to increase their good deeds, especially in the last ten days of Ramadan. Such as i’tikaf, night prayers, recitation of the Qur’an, and charity.
5. Pay Zakat Fitrah and Zakat Mal
Zakat fitrah serves as a means of purifying oneself, while zakat mal serves as a means of purifying one’s wealth. In every asset we have, there are rights and obligations. These rights and obligations take the form of rights for beggars and the poor.
6. Give Sadaqah Jariyah on Odd Nights.
Sadaqah jariyah can be realized in various forms, such as donating to build places of worship, public facilities, educational donations, waqf of the Qur’an and religious books, and giving alms through trusted institutions.
