Dompet Dhuafa Distributes Religious Supplies to Aceh Tamiang Disaster Survivors

ACEH TAMIANG —-— Amidst the post-flood recovery efforts in Aceh Tamiang, many of the survivors’ needs remain unmet, one of which is religious equipment. Moreover, with Ramadan approaching, this need has become a priority for Muslim residents affected by the disaster in order to support the smooth running of various religious activities during this holy month.

To address this need, Dompet Dhuafa, through its Disaster Management Center (DMC), together with the Indonesian Family Association IsDB/Islamic Development Bank (i-Kindi), distributed religious supplies to flood-affected residents in Marlempang Village, Bendahara District, and Medang Ara Village, Karang Baru District, on Wednesday (January 7, 2026).

One of the residents of Marlempang Village, Misni (60), said she was grateful for the prayer equipment she received. According to her, the aid was very helpful for the residents to continue performing their prayers after the flash flood washed away everything in their houses, including their prayer equipment.

“Alhamdulillah, thank God, I feel happy and touched. The prayer robes and mats in my house were lost in the flood. Now I have new prayer robes and mats, and I feel very happy. Thank you very much,” she said.

For your information, DMC Dompet Dhuafa and i-Kindi also distributed ready-to-eat food to the survivors. There were 500 portions of food distributed to those who are now struggling amid the limitations caused by the disaster.

“Since November 2025 until now, Dompet Dhuafa has continued to assist in the post-disaster recovery process for affected residents in Aceh Tamiang. We hope that the presence of Dompet Dhuafa and its partners can bring positive impacts for those affected in Aceh Tamiang,” said Ahmad Yamin, Head of DMC Dompet Dhuafa Response for Aceh Tamiang.
