Purify Your Heart, Strengthen Your Relationships: Dompet Dhuafa Holds Halal Bi Halal Gathering After Two Years of Pandemic

BOGOR —-— Eid al-Fitr 1443 has returned to normal after two years of the pandemic. Therefore, this is the perfect moment for Dompet Dhuafa employees to reconnect with each other in person. On Wednesday (May 25, 2022), the entire Dompet Dhuafa team held a Halal Bi Halal (HBH) Dompet Dhuafa event at the Dompet Dhuafa integrated empowerment area, Zona Madina, Jl. Raya Parung, Jampang, Kemang District, Bogor Regency.

Forgiving one another during the Eid al-Fitr celebration is a moment that completes the Ramadan fasting ritual and marks the return to one’s pure and clean nature as a human being. Therefore, the theme chosen by Dompet Dhuafa for this HBH event is “Purify the Heart, Strengthen Bonds.”

The chairperson of the HBH 1443 Dompet Dhuafa committee, Yayat Supriyatna, said that to enliven the event, the committee invited all Dompet Dhuafa members to wear traditional clothing from their respective regions. At the very least, the clothes worn should feature distinctive cultural symbols from their respective regions. This is a form of support from every member of Dompet Dhuafa to strengthen the solidarity of the institution as a manifestation of their shared desire to strengthen their relationships with one another.

“HBH is basically the culmination of Dompet Dhuafa’s activities during Ramadan. Various programs have been rolled out during Ramadan with the tagline #JadiManfaat (Be Beneficial). In a situation that is not yet fully conducive, Dompet Dhuafa’s amil (fund collectors) have carried out many programs and acts of kindness. The results show progress that is certainly better than in previous years,” explained Yayat.

The Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation, Rahmad Riyadi, said that on this HBH, Dompet Dhuafa employees were grateful to be able to gather and carry out this activity after two years of pandemic. What has been achieved during the month of Ramadan is a source of pride for Dompet Dhuafa as well as for the muzakki, munfik, and mustahik. He further explained that Dompet Dhuafa headquarters had successfully collected 91.6 million, an increase of 31.29% from the previous year. Meanwhile, branches throughout Indonesia collected 20.3 million, an increase of 4.47%. In total, Dompet Dhuafa’s headquarters and branches managed to collect 114.7 million, an increase of 13.9%.

In addition, in the distribution sector, Dompet Dhuafa held a Food for Dhuafa program which successfully distributed to 25,776 beneficiaries. followed by the distribution of iftar packages to 13,576 beneficiaries, the distribution of Zakat Fitrah to 116,547 beneficiaries, assistance for orphans and the poor to 3,183 beneficiaries, THR for teachers to 166 beneficiaries, Alquran donations to 3,794 beneficiaries, cleaning of 8 mosques, Ramadan Village Raids in 3 villages with a total of 815 beneficiaries, bulk purchases for the needy with 969 beneficiaries, health services for 3,978 beneficiaries, an education program covering 13,796 beneficiaries, and an integrated homecoming post serving 9,414 beneficiaries.

“I would like to congratulate my friends who have worked so hard. I believe that what we are doing is a circle of kindness. I am confident that Dompet Dhuafa will continue to grow and spread its benefits even further as it matures,” said Mr. Riyadi.

The gathering to strengthen the bonds between Dompet Dhuafa members was also attended by the initiator and Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation Board of Trustees, Parni Hadi. According to him, on that day he felt very Indonesian. This was because everyone who attended the event wore various traditional clothes from the western to the eastern parts of Indonesia.

“Today I feel more Indonesian. Everyone here is wearing their respective traditional attire while still adhering to Islamic rules. Indonesia is Islamic, and that is what we all hope for,” said Parni.

On that day, more than 500 attendees from Dompet Dhuafa came to celebrate wearing their respective traditional attire. The event was also attended by all Dompet Dhuafa branches throughout the archipelago and even overseas branches.
