SOUTH JAKARTA —-— In order to realize the results of the Empowering Mosque Congress declaration held on March 28-29, 2022, Dompet Dhuafa once again held a National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the National Presidium. The event was held on April 26-27, 2022 at the Kuratakeso Hotel in South Jakarta. There were 30 participants appointed to attend the 2022 KMP Rakernas. All of them were administrators and officials of mosques in the Greater Jakarta area.
Entitled “Optimizing the Role of Mosques in Fostering Civil Society Character,” the event consisted of a series of activities. These included an Overview and Roadmap for KMP 2022-2027, presentations from the eight KMP divisions, the preparation of the annual work plan and budget, and the establishment of the definitive structure of the KMP 2022 National Presidium. Eri Sudewo, as Chair of the Board of Trustees, was also present to give a briefing to all KMP National Working Meeting participants on the first day.
“I am happy that the mosque is thriving; its spearhead is indeed in the mosque. If all mosques move like this, I think Dompet Dhuafa will no longer be necessary. We also have a dream that, despite all the challenges we face, both internal and external, the face of poverty that has developed can at least be reduced,” said Arif Rahmadi, Head of Strategies and Advocacy Alliance at Dompet Dhuafa, in his speech opening the KMP Presidium National Working Meeting initiated by MPZ-ZL on Thursday (5/26/2022).
Empowering Mosques
The Empowering Mosques Congress is a rare opportunity to synergize social issues with mosques. As stated by Andi Juliandi, Chairman of the 2022 KMP Presidium. During the opening session, Andi added that in order to realize the grand dreams of KMP, we need to empower all mosque instruments without exception.
“Hopefully, this KMP will then become an MPZ and eventually an LAZ, so that its benefits will grow over time,” he added.
The main theme of this KMP is to become a concrete action in empowering mosques in Indonesia. The goal is to make mosques effective in alleviating poverty, based on the principles of function, one-stop service, one-stop solution, and one-stop innovation. This initiative will train mosque administrators and prosperity councils to become professionals in caring for and prospering mosques, as well as serving congregations who need assistance and solutions to all community issues.
Entering the roadmap explanation session, Ustadz Imam Alfaruq, as the Initiator and Head of the MPZ-ZL Department of Dompet Dhuafa, presented the KMP 5 (five) year movement roadmap.
“Through the 2022 KMP Presidium National Working Meeting, we want mosques to be able to function as Baitullah, which focuses on providing worship facilities. Starting from the need for purification, to completing prayers comfortably and feeling calm in the heart. The functions of the mosque as Baitumaal, Baitut tarbiyah, Baituddakwah, and Baitul Muamalah. Therefore, we sincerely hope that the participants of the National Working Meeting can contribute their best ideas to this agenda.
