CENTRAL ACEH, ACEH — The Dompet Dhuafa joint response team, together with musician Is Pusakata, entertained the children of SD Negeri 08 Linge—survivors of the Sumatra flood disaster—at the Delung Sekinel hamlet evacuation center, Linge District, Central Aceh Regency, on Wednesday (01/21/2026).
The children appeared joyful during the interactive activity held after they returned from school that morning. Is Pusakata sang several songs, including the song Tanah Air as a form of self-reflection.
Not only that, the vocalist of the band Parade Hujan also oversaw and directly distributed school kits and family kits, which he initiated through a charity concert titled “Together for Sumatra” with fellow musicians and creative artists in Jakarta on December 8, 2025.

Rindu, one of the survivors there, said that she was very happy to receive assistance and meet the Dompet Dhuafa volunteers. She said that school had only been in session for about a week and was being held in emergency tents.
The fourth grader at SD Negeri 08 Linge also shared her experience during the flood.
“I was separated from my parents during the flood, but thank God we were reunited two days later. My house was completely destroyed by the flood, and my father’s rice fields were also affected. I am still living in a temporary shelter,” said the second of two siblings.

Previously, Dompet Dhuafa, through its Aceh LKC (Free Health Services) team, also held preventive counseling services for the Reproductive Health program, Psychological First Aid, and distributed aid for the needs of mothers and children who were survivors there.
Nufus, a member of the LKC Aceh medical team, explained that the KesPro program is a preventive measure that needs to be taken into account for survivors, especially those who have been displaced and have toddlers.

The Linge District, Central Aceh Regency, remains isolated, with no electricity and limited access to clean water, on Tuesday (01/20/2026). This marks the 56th day since the hydrometeorological disaster struck the area on November 26, 2025.
The villages in the remote Linge area are still far from recovery due to severe infrastructure damage and many land access routes being cut off, severely limiting the mobility and activities of residents, whose livelihoods are primarily as farmers.

“Going deeper into the area, we still find post-disaster conditions like this. We really hope for accelerated assistance from anyone to help our brothers and sisters here recover. Come on, don’t stop helping. Please, let’s continue to help,” said Is Pusakata during the distribution.
“But this is also proof that there are still many good and caring people through ‘Bersama Untuk Sumatra’ as well. I am grateful to the collaborating musicians and creative artists who have been steadfast, as well as Dompet Dhuafa for continuing to facilitate. May Sumatra rise and recover soon,” he added.
