TANGERANG —-— Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa (Cordofa) officially began its 2026 Dai Ambassador Training series on Monday (10/02/2026). Held in the Serpong area of South Tangerang, this training serves as a crucible for preachers before they are sent to various parts of the world.
Twenty selected preachers who have passed a rigorous selection process are participating in an intensive five-day training program from February 9 to 13, 2026. The program aims to equip them with an empowerment-based preaching model that encompasses the pillars of education, health, culture, and social welfare.
These da’wah ambassadors are scheduled to serve in 11 countries, including Australia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Japan, France, Germany, South Korea, New Caledonia, East Timor, and Thailand.

Ahmad Shonhaji, Director of Social Services, Humanitarian Affairs, and Da’wah at Dompet Dhuafa, emphasized that these dai have a strategic role as educators of zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf (Ziswaf) at the international level.
“What we expect from the preachers we send to several countries is that they can be at the forefront in providing education about Ziswaf to the Muslim community in their host countries,” said Ahmad Shonhaji.
He added that this program is a strong motivation for Dompet Dhuafa to promote the Ziswaf program abroad. To ensure the smooth running of the program, his party is collaborating closely with the Indonesian Embassy, Dompet Dhuafa branches abroad, and various local da’wah partners.

This initiative by Dompet Dhuafa has received high praise from the Head of Foreign Relations at the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Prof. Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim. He highlighted the consistency of the program, which has been running for 13 years, in producing high-quality da’wah cadres to spread Islam as a source of mercy for all creation.
The official opening ceremony was led by the Deputy Mayor of Tangerang, H Maryono. In his message, he emphasized that the challenges of da’wah in the modern era require preachers who are not only intellectually intelligent, but also highly empathetic.
“Dakwah today demands a more human presence. Dai are not only conveyors of religious messages, but also listeners, comforters, and supporters of the people’s hopes,” said Maryono.

Through this training, Dompet Dhuafa hopes that all Dai Ambassadors 2026 will be able to represent an inclusive and solution-oriented face of Islam for various social issues in the countries where they serve. (Dompet Dhuafa)
