Dompet Dhuafa Sends Preachers to a Thousand Islands to Spread the Message of Islam by Sea

JAKARTA —-— Dompet Dhuafa, through the Dompet Dhuafa Dai Corps (Cordofa), once again sent off a group of preachers for the Thousand Islands Preacher Program on Thursday (March 5, 2026). The participating preachers will embark on a 10-day sea voyage, departing from Tanjung Priok Port in North Jakarta and heading to Kupang Port in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

During the voyage, these preachers are on a mission to spread the message of Islam as a blessing for all creation. In addition to providing religious education and guidance on worship to passengers and the ship’s crew, this program also serves as a space for religious consultation throughout the journey.

“Our mission is to fill the sea voyage with positive activities. We provide education, guidance on worship, and Islamic consultation services for the passengers,” said Ahmad Fitroh Rizqi, Head of the Da’wah Services Division at Cordofa.

For this period, Cordofa has assigned Ustaz Vihri M. Ginanjar. He is scheduled to sail on the KM Tidar, with a route passing through Surabaya, Makassar, Larantuka, Maumere, Lewoleba, and ending in Kupang.

During the 10-day voyage, Ustaz Vihri will conduct various programs, including Thematic Religious Study Sessions (religious discussions relevant to passengers’ needs), Counseling Services (private religious consultation rooms for travelers), Ziswaf Outreach (educating on the importance of Zakat, Infak, Sedekah, and Wakaf), and Worship Services (serving as imam for rawatib prayers, Tarawih prayers, and Friday sermon).

Ahmad Fitroh hopes this program will expand the reach of Cordofa’s da’wah outreach, even to the middle of the ocean.

“We hope the presence of da’is on the ship will enhance the religious understanding of Muslim passengers. On the other hand, this serves as a means for da’is to fulfill their duty of da’wah and to remind one another of goodness,” he concluded. (Dompet Dhuafa)
