The Nusadaya program provides not only physical assistance but also ongoing support. Program interventions include the construction of a food court, the provision of 10 business carts, capital assistance, as well as business management training and mentoring.

Sriyanti, Head of the Dompet Dhuafa NTT Branch, emphasized that this approach is designed to ensure SMEs can grow sustainably.

“We don’t just provide aid, but also ensure business quality improvement through regular mentoring,” she said.

The involvement of the Indonesian Empowered Entrepreneurs Foundation (YWIB) in this program further strengthens the empowerment aspect, particularly in developing entrepreneurial capacity and the local community’s business ecosystem so they can grow sustainably.

The beneficiaries are already beginning to feel the direct impact of this program. One of them, Nurelaila Abubakar, a business owner who now operates a stall at Nusadaya, expressed her gratitude for the changes she has experienced.

“I am very grateful for the Nusadaya stalls. My income has increased; previously, our stalls had few visitors. After being converted into Nusadaya stalls, thank God, visitors have become more numerous. Hopefully, Nusadaya will not stop here but will continue. Thank you, Dompet Dhuafa and Maybank Syariah; may you always be successful,” she said.

As an archipelago, Adonara faces significant geographical challenges. However, local economic potential—such as the culinary sector, small-scale trade, and locally produced goods—presents a major opportunity that can be developed through targeted program interventions.

Through a collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa’s NTT Branch, YWIB, and Maybank Syariah Indonesia, the Nusadaya Program is expected to provide tangible solutions for communities in remote areas and ensure that SMEs in island regions have the same competitive edge as businesses in urban areas.

The Nusadaya program is expected to foster independent entrepreneurs who not only improve their families’ well-being but also become drivers of the local economy. (Dompet Dhuafa)
