The arrival of Ramadan is eagerly awaited by all Muslims around the world. According to the calendar published by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, 1 Ramadan 1447 AH is expected to fall on Thursday, February 19, 2026. For this reason, Muslims need to prepare themselves to welcome this holy month with various good deeds, one of which is through charity.
In a hadith narrated by Bukhari, it is mentioned that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the most generous of people, and his generosity increased during Ramadan. In fact, his generosity was likened to the blowing of the wind. This was narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him):
“The Prophet (peace be upon him) was the most generous of people in goodness, and his generosity increased during Ramadan when the Angel Jibril visited him to teach him the Qur’an. Jibril (peace be upon him) used to visit him every night during Ramadan until the end of the month. Every night, the Prophet would recite the Qur’an to Jibril. When Jibril, peace be upon him, met him, he was more generous in doing good than the blowing wind.”
(HR Al-Bukhari No. 1769 and Muslim No. 4268)
In addition, the reward for charity can continue to grow if the donated wealth provides long-term benefits to those in need. As long as the benefits are felt, the reward will continue to flow to the giver even after he has passed away. This is called sadaqah jariyah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“When the son of Adam dies, all his deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for his parents.”

Sadaqah Jariyah Towards Ramadan
This article will thoroughly discuss various innovative sadaqah jariyah ideas that can multiply your rewards in the month of Ramadan. Check out the review here:
1. Charity for Orphans and the Poor
In hoping for the blessings of Ramadan, honoring orphans and the poor is one of the best choices. Friends can share through various Dompet Dhuafa programs, ranging from providing school supplies, educational scholarships, food packages, to ongoing assistance.
In addition to financial assistance, Dompet Dhuafa also opens opportunities for volunteers to contribute their energy in various humanitarian programs during this holy month.
2. Al-Qur’an Alms
In various corners of the country, the availability of usable Al-Qur’an manuscripts is still very minimal for Al-Qur’an memorizers. Through the Al-Qur’an Alms program, you can help Hafiz and Hafizah in memorizing and practicing the contents of the Al-Qur’an. This is a means of da’wah whose rewards will continue to flow every time the verses are read.
3. Productive Waqf
Waqf is a special form of sadaqah jariyah. Through productive waqf, property is managed professionally to generate sustainable profits. The proceeds are then channeled to build educational facilities, health services, and community economic empowerment. This is in line with the five main pillars carried out by Dompet Dhuafa.

4. Donating Skills
Almsgiving does not always have to be in the form of money. Sharing knowledge or skills is also considered almsgiving. According to the message of the Prophet Muhammad, beneficial knowledge will bring endless rewards. Friends can join as volunteer teachers, tutors for reading and writing the Qur’an, or share other practical skills in areas supported by Dompet Dhuafa throughout Indonesia.
5. Solidarity for Palestine
To this day, our brothers and sisters in Palestine are still facing a severe humanitarian crisis, from ongoing attacks to the threat of malnutrition. Donations for Palestine during Ramadan are not just logistical aid, but a form of sadaqah jariyah to help them survive and maintain their dignity amid difficult conditions.
6. Post-Disaster Recovery in Sumatra
Several areas in Sumatra are still struggling to recover after floods and landslides. Survivors need temporary shelter, basic necessities, and proper sanitation. Donating to Sumatra’s recovery is a concrete step to rebuild the lives of our fellow countrymen who have been affected by the disaster.
Those are various innovative charitable giving options that you can optimize this Ramadan. Let’s make this holy month a chance to get the best blessings through Dompet Dhuafa. Give your best anti-mainstream charitable giving at Dompet Dhuafa now! (Dompet Dhuafa)
