Aid for Sumatra Continues, Dompet Dhuafa Receives Donations from Kami Idea Indonesia

JAKARTA —-— Dompet Dhuafa has once again received donations for Sumatra. This time, the donations came from the Muslim fashion brand Kami Idea Indonesia (Kami.) worth IDR 71.38 million. The handover of donations took place at the Kami. office in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, on Friday (06/02/2026).

The proceeds from the donation drive were handed over directly by one of the brand’s founders, Afina Candarini, to Dompet Dhuafa’s Deputy Corporate Secretary, Dian Mulyadi. This donation was successfully collected from a humanitarian campaign for Sumatra that was launched by Kami.

“Kami. has a humanitarian campaign, one of which is to collect donations for flood victims in Sumatra. These donations were collected from sales proceeds and direct donations to Kami., to be distributed through Dompet Dhuafa. This aligns with Kami.’s commitment to serve as a platform for Kami. People (the term used for Kami.’s consumers and community) to help others, not just through shopping,” said Afina Candarini.

He continued that the fundraising took almost two months. It was quite a long time because we wanted to involve more members of our community and customers who wanted to help flood survivors in Sumatra.

Furthermore, he said that humanitarian collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa has been established several times. Therefore, his party believes that Dompet Dhuafa is still a consistent Islamic philanthropic institution in terms of distributing humanitarian aid.

“Dompet Dhuafa is one of the institutions that consistently distributes aid both domestically and abroad. Therefore, we truly place our trust in Dompet Dhuafa,“ he explained.

He admitted that he was confused about how to distribute donations to disaster survivors in Sumatra. ”I was confused about where to send the donations because when we wanted to help Sumatra, other institutions had already stopped distributing aid. In fact, Kami needed time to collect donations from customers, clients, and vendors,” he said.

From there, he chose Dompet Dhuafa because of its consistency in helping Sumatra flood survivors even though the disaster had passed two months ago. From the donations that have been distributed through Dompet Dhuafa, he hopes that Sumatra can quickly recover and return to normal.

“It was very sad to hear Mas Dian’s story, how there were no places to live, no prayer rooms, and even no health facilities. So, hopefully, our brothers and sisters who were affected in Sumatra can return to their normal lives,” he concluded.

On the same occasion, Dian Mulyadi expressed his gratitude and thanks for the donations entrusted to Dompet Dhuafa. He said that this assistance will be distributed through various responses, one of which is a recovery program, namely the construction of temporary houses (Rumtara), the establishment of emergency schools, the renovation of mosques, and the renovation of village maternity clinics (Polindes).

“Praise be to God, we recently completed the renovation of a Polindes in Meunasah Mancang, Pidie Jaya. Dompet Dhuafa has also been directly involved in three provinces, particularly in Aceh, which has been severely affected. We have also built around 180 Rumtara, both in Tamiang, Pidie Jaya, North Aceh, and plan to build in Central Aceh in the near future,” he added.

“Thank you for your support, Kami. and Kami. People. May this humanitarian collaboration continue for the greater good in the future,” he concluded.

For information, Kami. was founded by Istafiana Candarini, Nadya Karina, and Afina Candarini in 2009. This brand not only sells clothes but also various accessories with modern, minimalist, and elegant designs.

Previously, in November 2023, Kami. also handed over a donation to Dompet Dhuafa for humanitarian aid in Palestine. This humanitarian collaboration continues, this time domestically, helping fellow citizens recover from floods and landslides. Friends of Dompet Dhuafa can also collaborate to help Sumatra through SOLIDARITAS BANTU SUMATRA. (Dompet Dhuafa)
