At the End of Muharram, DD Sultra Spreads Kindness Through the Muliakan Yatim Program

KENDARI, SOUTHERN SULAWESI — The festive spirit at the end of Muharram, often known as Orphan Eid, is still felt and continues to be promoted by Dompet Dhuafa through one of its programs, Muliakan Yatim. With the campaign Ragam Kebaikan Yatim Nusantara (Various Acts of Kindness for Orphans Across the Archipelago), Dompet Dhuafa has also initiated a program to bring happiness to orphans throughout Indonesia.

In collaboration with its branch networks and volunteers, Dompet Dhuafa will implement several programs such as “Yatim Preneur,” “Yatim Tangguh Berdaya,” “Kado Yatim,” and “Belanja Bareng Yatim,” benefiting at least 2,459 orphaned children.

One of the implementations of the “Honor the Orphans” program can be seen on Saturday (August 27, 2022). Dompet Dhuafa Southeast Sulawesi collaborated with Amalia Darul Amanah Foundation (ADA) to provide school kits to orphaned children.

Located at the Integrated Business Service Center for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (PLTU KUMKM) in Kendari City, this event was attended by 30 orphaned children from the Wushulul Fawwaz Islamic Boarding School in Punggolaka, Puuwatu District, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi.

A warm and welcoming atmosphere filled the event, with the joy and excitement clearly visible on the faces of the children who received school kits for their educational needs. The school kits distributed included backpacks, books, and other school supplies. Given the upcoming start of the new academic year with in-person classes, these school kits are highly beneficial and essential for the orphaned children.
