Before Ramadan, DD Papua Holds Blood Drive and Free Medical Checkups

KEEROM, PAPUA —— Dompet Dhuafa Papua’s Free Health Services (LKC) held a blood drive and free medical treatment event for residents of Arso Subdistrict, Keerom Regency. The event took place at several locations in rotation.

On Friday (February 25, 2022), the LKC DD Papua team launched the blood donation and free medical treatment services at the Fisabilillah Mosque in Arso I, Keerom Regency. The following week, on Friday (March 4, 2022), the team held the event at the Jamiatul Hidayat Mosque in Ifiafia Village, Arso XI, Keerom Regency.

Ayu Rizqi, the person in charge of this activity, said that Dompet Dhuafa Papua organized this event in preparation for the Holy Month of Ramadan 1443 H. During the blood donation and health check-up process, priority was given to mosque imams and mosque administrators, followed by the general public.

This activity will continue to be held every week leading up to Ramadan. It is hoped that this activity will strengthen participants both physically and spiritually, preparing them to welcome and observe the religious observances during the month of Ramadan.

“This initiative will continue until the start of Ramadan and includes blood drives aimed at ensuring an adequate blood supply—especially during Ramadan—as well as health checkups for mosque administrators and imams in preparation for Ramadan,” added Ayu Rizqi.

The smooth running of this initiative is made possible through collaboration with several organizations, including the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), the Indonesian Islamic Students Association (KB PII), and the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI). Dompet Dhuafa / Papua / Muthohar)
