JAKARTA — Friday is regarded as a day of special significance for Muslims, often seen as filled with blessings. Many historic moments in Islam took place on Fridays, and it is believed that acts of charity performed on this day yield multiple rewards, including those made on “Blessed Friday” (Jumat Berkah).
This belief inspired the Community Service Institution (LPM) of Dompet Dhuafa to launch the ‘Darling’ Mobile Kitchen Program with ‘Blessed Friday’ activities at the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta on Friday (17/11/2023). A total of 1,000 boxes of snacks and bottled water were distributed to the Friday prayer congregation and the surrounding community.
Tarmidzi Akbar, the Person In Charge of the Darling Program at Dompet Dhuafa, stated that the ‘Blessed Friday’ activity serves as a way to give back to the community.

“We collaborated with the management and staff of the Istiqlal Mosque. Distribution was conducted at two gates, they are Al-Fattah Gate and As-Salam Gate. The community participated enthusiastically in the event,” he explained.
Amelia Oktaviani, a Super Volunteer at Dompet Dhuafa, also took part in the ‘Blessed Friday’ activities at the Istiqlal Mosque, assisting in the distribution of meals.
“I’m thrilled to participate in such a meaningful event with LPM Dompet Dhuafa and Darling, the Mobile Kitchen, sharing kindness around the Istiqlal Mosque. God willing, it will bring blessings to us all. I believe that Allah rewards every act of kindness with goodness. I hope that future events will bring even more benefits to many people,” she shared.
